The main aspect, to me, would be how it tastes after your fourth one- is it still interesting or even growing more interesting? Founders All Day is great on the first one, wonderful aroma, but by the second the hops tend to diminish and there is not much else to come to the fore, and seems to be on a downward trajectory.

I'd say Yards Brawler- plenty going on in that one.

$12 six pack takes it out of the running of top session beers.

Exactly my sentiments. It's all hop bitterness—granted it has a nice aroma, but it's categorically different in character than the flavor profile. I'm the first person to argue that too many (D)IPAs these days don't have enough hop bitterness because they're all flavor and aroma hops, but All Day has very little hop flavor in favor of a big wallop of hop bitterness, but it all comes off as oniony-vegetal and astringent citrus peel bitterness. Maybe okay for a beer twice its size, but All Day has too little malt complexity or weight to balance out the bitterness, and not enough of what's going on in the nose.

Levitation is still king of the under 5% beers imo. All day is nice.

This is why I use the term "sessionable" beer when discussing lower abv brews on this site.

And yes, All Day IPA is a pretty great beer for what it is, although I typically prefer a pilsner or helles when I'm having several beers.

My thoughts exactly. I've tried it on 3 occasions, and it's been "thin" every time, imo.

I have had both and Lagunitas Day Time blows away Founders All Day for a very close ABV.

Yep. To be honest, I'd love to see a good "fractional" IPA, and to be fair I've only had a couple, but All Day isn't it for me. It's good, but not great and not something I'm going to seek out again. I'd rather have a session-strength APA, hoppy pilsner (Prima Pils?), Belgian Pale, or saison than something like All Day.

First of all, Three Floyds doesn't make it, so I doubt the OP even drank it. Secondly, I really like the artwork on the can:

It is a sexy-looking can, I'll give you that.

Kind of a sidenote, has anyone here had Evil Twin's Bikini Beer? With that canning deal they've got with Two Roads coming up, I guess there'll be larger volumes of that and Hipster Ale in canned sixers. Whatever it costs, I'm sure there'll be a lot of griping about paying whatever price it is for being like 2.7% ABV, but I'm really curious to try it and would buy it at least once, personally.

Thin...isn't that pretty much what you're going to get with lower abv brews? Usually. We are talking aboot body, eh?

I agree. I bought a 6 pack of it and haven't had the desire to drink any more of it after having one bottle. We'll see if my opinion changes after a few more bottles.

Yeah, I think we already came to that conclusion after your first two posts said the same thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think All Day is perfect for what it intends to be, and after knocking down a few on the golf course the other day I have a feeling I'll be drinking my fair share of this beer over the summer. Like many people my palate tends to gravitate towards bigger brews, so it's nice to find a good easy drinking beer that I actually enjoy for those hot summer days.

But besides our own personal opinions, the biggest vote of confidence I can put in All Day comes from my close friend, an AB guy for as long as I've known him; and while he's slowly made an attempt to give some craft beers a chance, he's not giving up his Bud Light anytime soon either... after letting him try an All Day, he actually said it was really good and asked for another one. I was stunned. lol

The first six pack I bought I liked it but wasn't overly impressed. The numerous ones I've bought since have been near perfect for this style of beer. Acquired taste, if you've only tried once try it again per Hop King's advice.

Still haven't had the chance to try it, but it sounds like a beer I'd enjoy.

I really like Stone's Levitation. A lot of flavor for a low ABV beer.
