    I find it one of the better BBA Imperial Stouts out there. I still prefer Abyss, KBS and PT5... But it for sure hangs in that area of greatness

    Love this beer but I worry I burnt myself a bit out on it this past season with how much I drank it. Of all the times I have drank it I really only noticed the barrel to it that very first time I tried it, but that doesn't really take away from how great a beer it is.

    Yes, two thoughts:

    First, someone is going to point out (if they haven't already) that on a website dedicated reviewing and rating beers, you should read the reviews for people's thoughts.

    Second, I was torn tonight between opening a Big Bad Baptist or Goose Island Big John. I went with Big John. Glad to hear you ring enjoying the former. I'll have to break that one open soon.

    Cheers!

    P.S. Big John gets real nice once the bottle opens up a bit.

    lmao, I am well aware that this site offers reviews seeing that I do some myself, I started this thread as a discussion, not so much a means to review this beer..I will however get around to officially reviewing it tonight..Thank you for informing me though..

    Oh crap, I just became "that guy!" It was totally unintentional.

    I was really amused to see your post, though, since I had my hand on BBB this evening but put it back.

    I thought it was solid. Not a game changer or anything though.

    Much, much, much easier to get than the other beers that are in its class.

    yeah its very, very good...I think its right up there with all the others personally! This beer proves hype isn't everything..in fact its really nothing.

    I could see this beer becoming a big deal for sure; lets try to pretend we don't like it so that the hype train doesn't take it over...:sunglasses:

    I had this when it was first released and thought it was very awesome. I still can't understand why it doesn't receive the same hype as all the other barrel aged stouts. Whatever though.. Just means it's easier for me to get.

    That and Labyrinth are probably my favorite barrel aged stouts at the moment. What I love about these beers is that they don't immediately slap you in the face with booze. The whiskey barrel aging is apparent in BBB, but it mingles well with the chocolate and coffee. Good stuff!

    BBB is the best kept secret in the beer world.

    Until now! :grimacing::angry:

    This beer was amazing the first couple times I tried it. More recently it wasn't quite that good, perhaps there are some differences in the batches? One thing I have noticed is the price has gone up significantly though.
