Say we are gathered for a wedding, a concert or a FEMA roundup. One beer, and one beer only, is served to us. We have one guest invited. What is the ONE beer served, that will please us all? Pale Ale, like SNPA, or is that too boring? Pliny? Sam Noble Pils, in order to please our guests? Munich Helles? if you could choose one beer to please a thousand folks what would it be?

It wouldn't be my choice but...Bud Light would probably please most of them, assuming they all were not craft beer drinkers or only 5% of them were.

My personal choice would depend on where the venue was held.

Edit: I missed the BA part in the subject header but I'd still like to know where it was held. Drinking local and such..

Great thread. Hmmmm....that's a tough one. I'd cast my vote for Saison Dupont.

Zombie Dust would probably satisfy most everyone, would also throw out New Glarus Spotted Cow or Russian River Blind Pig

My daughter is getting married next September. The reception is at a large local hotel & I had the choice of 2 common beers-Coors, Labatts etc. I added (at $40 per case) Victory Prima Pils.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, while not a style that isn't in vogue as DIPA or BA Stouts it is rated very highly on the beers of fame list. To me this means this beer has weathered the storms and stood the test of time and it is a beer that should appeal to pretty much every BA.

I would say you hit the nail on head, either SNPA or a craft pils. Preferably Prima Pils. I think we forget all too often that there are plenty of BA's that aren't into everything having a big hop profile of all PNW varietals...besides the Cascade in SNPA, everybody loves that.

Two Hearted...should be enough to satisfy everybody - hoppy, "balanced", good malt bill, clean finish, etc. Couldn't argue with Zombie Dust either.

Pliny. Whenever I give some to even a BMC drinker, people come away very impressed.

Two Hearted is another great choice

I like the SNPA mention as well. It is so solid and always around, even in non-craft friendly joints. Prima pils is a good choice as well, and I'll throw Stone Levitation into the mix.
