Live is one of the best APA's I've ever tasted...

Oh I have. That's in a class of its own...price wise too

Very hop forward and in the back. It reminded me of Zombie Dust, just with different hop ingredients.

Americans bigging up a 5.5% pale ale.

You don't see that on here every day.

Love Live. Can't wait to crush a sixer on the porch this summer.

I finished a sixer of this last night. I liked it enough, but I think it's one of those new beers that accomplishes it lower-ABV by neglecting malt and filling the void with a whole bunch of hops. The resulting beer is still had good flavor (and great hop aroma), but I found it kind of "hollow."

Depends on what you're used to. I've not had Live yet but I'd still expect decent body at 5.5%. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up against similar UK beers where this is one of the most popular craft styles.

Definitely agree with LIVE being a wonderful APA. I too am a bit leery when it comes to Southern Tier's brews but this one is fantastic. And is that a bit of citra I detect in the hop bill?

I'm glad someone put into words what I thought of this brew (it's a perfect description based on my experience). It was tough for me to figure out why I wasn't blown away by it...because it certainly had a dominant hop presence for an APA. Also, I may have felt slightly underwhelmed because it was $10 a sixer.

Even though I have a bunch of tasty brews in the fridge I need to finish, I now feel compelled to compare LIVE to two of my favortie APAs--SNPA and Victory Headwaters. Haven't had those since last summer.

I'm in complete agreement. Not a bad beer, but hollow on the malt flavor and not enough to support the hops for me.

I must get a six of this to try. I'm not a huge ST fan, but it's got to be better than Phin & Matt's which is the poster boy of ordinary.

Peeper is great. My second favorite APA.

I thought so too, Live is a great refreshing beer. Definitely worth picking up again and on a regular basis

I tried it when it came out in bombers last year. Thought it was similar to the plethora of SNPA knockoffs out there - dime a dozen.

I am 99% positive that's amarillo. I don't get crazy tropical in the aroma, I get overwhelming orange - a signature to the amarillo hop. Amarillos are a personal favorite of mine, which is why I really like this beer.

I can't think of a single pale that is a SNPA knockoff. I know that sounds strange, but I can't, and I also think your comment is off base and pretty useless

    Really good beer.
I wish they would change up their packaging though. It's easy to pass over.

This beer is pretty awesome; I got it in a bomber back in December and thought it was perfect for the ABV and style. Ended up putting a pretty in-depth review on my page here. Great price, too... $4 bombers are always nice.

Could def be amarillo but I always get a ton of citrus in citra and not much tropical..... i tend to compare the citra hops to candied oranges. Regardless..... it's a great beer and a surprise to me considering I don't gravitate to much from Southern Tier.

I picked up a six of this last night. It was decent. I found it to be lacking depth and too one dimensional personally. I feel like over hopping these low abv beers is doing them an injustice. People are buying them up, so maybe it's just me.
