    As a rule of thumb, roughly , perhaps. But a definition which isn't entirely accurate isn't really a definition at all.
    I'm frustrated that I can't give a definition. It's like "time" , I understand it well enough but struggle to define it. I do hope that after seeing this thread a few BAs will see that there's more than this simplistic divide and delve into well researched beer literature.Unfortunately most of what's written about the subject is rehashed unchecked folklore but a few people are busy working from primary contemporary sources.
