I'll admit that I've only been to the Dogfish Head and Victory brewpubs but they were both great in their own right.

I'd love to hear some input for future trips both on the East coast and much further away!

I LOVE going to Great Lakes downstairs bar, that place is like heaven to me. If I had to pick a second from what Ive visited, Id say that Bull City Burger & Brewery is pretty fan-freaking-tastic. Third might be Lager Heads in Medina, OH. The smoked wings were amazing--and too much for me to finish--and Tyranny PA was amazingly hoppy.

For both, the food is incredible (Id give the nod to BCBB, but dont forget GLBC. The French Dip add Blue Cheese at GLBC is just wow), but the GLBC beer is just better. Sorry Seth and Luke, im a fanboy. Lager Heads beer wasnt overall as good as either.

PS: Mash House in Fayetteville, NC has great food and tasty beer. Ruben brews some great Lagers!

Well it WAS the Alchemist before that damn hurricane destroyed it...Prohibition Pig taking its place is an incredible bar so it turned out okay in the end.

Hopefully I will get to return to Russian River one day. Fantastic beer, of course, and great food. Very memorable.

A few of my favorites would be....

Former Alchemist Brew Pub (Waterbury Vermont)
    Breakside Brewing (Portland Oregon)
    Cambridge Brewing (Mass.)
Hair of the Dog (Portland Oregon)
    Willimantic Brewing (Connecticut)
    Selinsgrove Brewing (Pennsylvania)

Oh and I'm heading out to Tired Hands in PA this weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if that place earns a spot on this list.

The PNW is filled with great brewpubs. My favorite is Selins Grove Brewing, in Selinsgrove, PA. Great room, great beer, great folks.

Nodding Head in Philly is fantastic and doesn't take itself too seriously. Good food, good grub, pub like atmosphere, oh and they brew some really nice brews on premises.

For many years, I have felt that Laurelwood and Iron Springs are perfect brewpubs.

Not sure if it qualifies as a 'brewpub' under purist definitions, but I liked hanging out at Whip-In (Namaste Brewing) in Austin when I lived there. Good lineup of beers (their own as well as others), great food, good people...

Revolution in Chicago is fantastic. Best food ive had out of a brewpub. Taproom though has to go to Half Acre.

I know this sounds like a fanboi answer, but the 3 Floyds Brewpub is great. The menu is always eccentric (on my first visit I ordered the bone marrow with button mushrooms and fermented grapes on toast), and of course there is great brew on tap. Usually metal or punk music playing on the record player behind the bar with an old kung-fu or old B-side movie screening on the wall via a projector. Action figures and murals depicting the characters from the beer labels finish the decor. Honorable mentions go to Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH and Fat Heads (i prefer the one in Pittsburgh over the original Cleveland location)

Too many to count, seems like I really couldn't even place a bad one -- brewpubs are great places.

2 hold great memories; one closed, one going strong. Brewmaster's Pub in Kenosha, WI was the first ever brewpub I visited. Got to know the owners and brewers very well, helped brew beer, even designed labels when they bottled and logos for their annual beer fest. It was a great, homey place to hang out and have a beer.

Second would be Goose Island's original pub at 1800 N. Clybourn in Chicago. First visited the year they opened, watched the neighborhood evolve around them, hold some great memories of time spent with friends at the classic bar. Southeast corner seat is my favorite spot.
