I've also heard Tröegs. So, the current list of breweries that are either newly here, will be here soon, or will be back soon appears to stand at the following:

    Avery (back soon)
Bear Republic (shadily hear now, legitimately here soon)
    Founders (soon)
Goose Island (just landed draught only, more to follow)
    Green Flash (soon)
    Tröegs (soon)

Can anyone add to that (or, I hope not, subtract)?

Oh, of course I forgot Sixpoint. Pyramid is already here (they had several offerings on at Prime a few weeks back), and I suppose we could also mention Cricket Hill and Keegan Ales.

Any idea how long "soon" is? This is the first that I have heard about most of these... needless to say, you have me fairly excited.

The time frame I keep hearing is "a few months" - of course I've been hearing that for more than a couple months, so who knows. Everything I've heard is second-hand rumor; maybe someone more keyed in to the Craft Beer Guild will come on and give us more concrete intel.

    Where was this?

Also, I heard Bells from a store worker earlier this week but it is completely speculation.

I know at least a few kegs of the regular stuff have popped up around New Haven (e.g., Prime 16 had Honkers and 312 on around the end of February), and I've heard we can also expect at least Matilda and Sofie in the short term. I know Prime was planning a GI takeover for earlier this month, but had to put it off due to delivery delays on the Belgian stuff.

From all I've heard we should expect nothing in the BCBxS family, and I'd be surprised if Bell's were more than a rumor. :slight_frown:

Yeah my problem is I can't get out much so I tend to always think in terms of bottle distro. All in all the talk I'm hearing is really exciting. I may not have to travel to NY and MA anymore and that's huge!!

Any store in the greater New Haven area carrying Sixpoint? Oh and to add Element is now here. Not huge or new news but eager to try it.

Ok so this sucks but Founder's isn't not coming to CT because of our awesome franchise laws. Also Bear Republic has no plans of coming right away but if they do it would be end of 2013/beginning of 2014. Big "if" tho. Well at least we have NEBC.

Source? The last I heard was that Founders was definitely looking to come, but not with CBG - they've been having talks with multiple other distributors, trying to find the best fit. Are you saying those talks have all fallen through? If so, what exactly about these "franchise laws" is the problem?

I've heard Bell's, Founders, etc as well because a new distributor will be entering the market and carrying those brands. I can't remember the name of the distributor.

I would not be surprised if the Sheehan family of distributors bought someone up in order to get in the game. They are already in MA, NY and NJ.

As for Element - been here for a little bit already

Bells - Don't believe that one

Founders - expanding in NY so maybe but who really cares. Plenty of good IPAs and Porters already.

Thanks for the update. All I know is that it was never a sure thing that Founders would stick with CBG, as they definitely met with at least Northeast and, I believe, a couple other potential distributors. I can understand their trepidation about entering the CT market, as our beer laws are f***ed up indeed.

I just hope that whenever an official decision is made, they announce it publicly so at least we can show our legislators how excessive regulation is stifling small business growth in the craft beer segment.

Founders might be pondering Ct. but they have arrived hard in Rhode Island - great news for people that live out this way in southeast Conn.
