such a good beer, one of my favorites, the malt and vanilla flavors go great together

I just got a cache of DFH beers from an online shop and this is in the list, as well as ApriHop and the 90. The other two I have awaiting me are the Chicory Stout and the Indian Brown Ale hybrid.

I've never gotten to try DFH before (I don't think they distribute to Kansas or Missouri), so I'm pretty excited to try all five. Especially when I see posts like this!

Yeah, I was surely surprised. I was expecting a bigger Indian Brown Ale. It was nothing like that at all.

I had had KBS night before and was so surprised it was like a barrel aged stout. A confusing, but world class beer. It's awesome that this is pretty accessible year round too.

I had my first one last night! It seemed to have a lot of sherry and caramel. I would revisit, but I didn't quite rave.

No, most BA's discourage their recent ventures, but will stand strong in support for those beers that changed the craft scene forever (Indian Brown Ale, Palo Santo Marron, Aprihop, 90min., World Wide Stout, Raison D'Etre, Burton Baton, Olde School, Chicory Stout, Punkin). Outside of that lineup, it's all hit or miss. One big hit for me is Hellhound, though, which is basically new (2-3 years old, now).

I used to work at a dogfish head alehouse a couple years ago, but since then I don't really care for their beer anymore, like at all. But I will say that after all the many beers I have had over the last few years, nothing is like Palo Santo. A very unique beer, it was always my favorite dogfish brew, and the only one of theirs I will still buy occasionally. Man, probably gonna have to pick up some now.

I like the company's philosophy way more then their beer. Thats not to say its bad though.

I agree that Palo Santo Marron is a solid brew, but I've definitely had mixed results with different beers I've tried from them.
Having said that, though, just had my first Burton Baton last week, & it's one of my new favorites...

I thought that beer was so gross. Also no resemblance to an IPA, bummed I wasted $16 or whatever on a 4-pack of that swill.

I was just at the brew pub in Fairfax the other night and had a Palo Santo on tap. Incredible brew. I always pass it up when I see it in the store or on tap, I just never think about it for some reason. I was on a "darker beer" kick, and still kind of am I guess, and decided to have it. HOLY SHIT BALLS I'm so glad I did..

Bitches Brew is pretty epic too :-D

I really need to try this one again. I had it on tap at their brew pub about 2 years ago, and I wasn't sold on it. My tastes have changed quite a lot since then, so I ought to give it another go one of these days.

As far as DFH goes, I like them in general. 60, 75, 90, Punkin, Aprihop, Midas Touch, Burton Baton, and Indian Brown Ale are all great beers IMO. I know they tend to do some weird stuff from time to time, and those tend to be hit or miss, but I like that they aren't afraid to experiment with new ideas.

It's a very unique beer. There's not really much you can compare it to. A little pricey to be an all-the-timer for me, but I'll pick one up every month or two.

Funny you should mention KBS; I had my one bottle of that last night, and it really did remind me a lot of Palo Santo. Which is a good thing, because Palo Santo is an awesome beer. One of the few where I'll drop that much on a four-pack, especially since they tend to last me a while. It's more of an every-so-often beer than something like the 60/90 minute IPA or Aprihop, which are a lot more easy to drink.

PSM was one of the top ten beers that, at that moment of my craft journey, really blew me away. It made me really step my game up haha. Have one saved to open at exactly one year.

I'm not a big fan of DFH on most days, but Palo Santo Marron is probably one of my top 5 beers.

Agreed. It was good, but way too boozy for my tastes.

One of the only DFH beers that I consider to be exceptional. Many others are good, but Palo Santo is delicious!
