So I got a box all packed up and taking to FeDEx after work. Thing is, I forgot the dude wanted some Coffee Bender. My question is this: How fresh does this need to be? I'll only have time to stop at maybe 2 shops. I have no clue, and I want to make sure it'll be good for my recipient. Thanks in advance for any input.
In most coffee beers in general, the coffee starts to tapper down after about 6 months. I love the new recipe.
Thanks for the feedback. My local shop had Feb1st, so I went with that. I hope he likes it - but if not, it was just extra beer, on top of the extra beer I sent him. Cheers
Glad you like it! However we don't brew cold press coffee w/water and add it to the beer. The new process just allows us to make 60BBLS at a time. Cheers!
Ive always loved CB, but just havent bought it in a while; I just bought some canned 3/29 and the new recipe is a F*&#ing COFFEE BOMB in such a good way. CB has always been my coffee beer and your new method makes it even better. Its like drinking coffee with a hint of beer, which is what I look for in a good coffee beer. Side question: Does it contain caffeine? if so, approx how much per can?
This has me intrigued, as I haven't had a Coffee Bender in a looooong time. I will have to grab some tomorrow.
It has a decent amount of caffeine. I am really caffeine sensitive, and I would say it has at least 1 shot of espresso in it if not 2. The low alcohol content allows it to come through which makes it actually pretty good for both relaxing and getting things done. Probably doesn't work if you regularly drink caffeine but I have had none in over a month and it is significant
Will have to try Coffee Bender again. When there are other, cheaper coffee beers, it is easy to forget about CB.
I suggest you fork up the extra couple bucks for CB. If you like a lot of coffee in your coffee beer, CB dominates the competition. Basically every coffee beer except coffee BCBS doesnt compare anymore. As a regular coffee drinker the caffiene doesn't register for me either, so its probably less than a half shot worth
I usually start my day with a Coffee Bender, it's cheaper than going to Starbucks and picking a sugared up coffee product. Plus it comes in a can, and who doesn't love cans?
OK, I thought that I was crazy, because I had it several times before over the years, but never cared much for it, so I never went back very often. I always thought that it seemed a bit thin. But I recently went back to it and have been loving it. I thought that maybe they had changed the grain bill, but I could easily see this coming from a new process of imparting coffee.
