How crazy do you think this will be - waiting in line for __ to get 5 oz and how soon would you guess they'd tap out?

I went. Arrived at 6:30 and Vanilla and Cherry Rye were already out. Enjoyed pulls of BCS Coffee '11 & '12, Baudoinia and Big John, however. Baudoinia...WOW! Finished with a couple pours of Zombie Dust. Add a heaping helping of Hopleaf's amazing mussels and wifey and I left quite happy.

$5 for heavy-handed 6 oz. snifters was A-OK by me.

Didn't make it to this one, but the tap room takeover at Binny's South Loop several weeks ago was amazing - between the taps, free giveaways and samples, they had pretty much every variety of BCBS on hand and it all almost lasted the full 2 hours.

I don't see how Big John is considered a BCS varient. Why not throw Nightstalker in there too and make it 8 offerings.

I was there last night. Tried Vanilla, Cherry Rye, '11 Coffee, Baudonia, and Big John. Awesome event! Vanilla was the shining star, but baudonia actually took second for me. It was fantastic and still available when we left around 9pm.

Then it should be a Cook County Stout variant.

Next time you should ask them to put an asterisk so we can avoid any and all confusion this may have caused people

Also, no one specifically said Big John is a bourbon County variant. It was just on the draft list where they said bourbon county and variants are included. Aren't we being a little nitpicky?

ACTUALLY........If you actually READ the event's info.....You'll see Hopleaf posted this.....

(Quote from Hopleaf) . . . . "Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout variations on tap along with Big John and Baudoinia. We'll start tapping at 5 and keep pouring till their gone."

    They made the clear distinction.

And for the record, Nightstalker KILLLS BJ 8 days a week.

I admit I haven't had it on tap (and won't spend money to try) but the bottles we opened were complete drain pours. Probably the worst beer I have tried in years.
