I am going to be in Brighton, MI this Saturday and was thinking about making the 45 minute drive to Kuhnhenn. My question is, will it be worth my trip? Do they have bottles I can purchase to bring home? Food? Thanks for any advice.

You will not find any food there but you will be able to grab some bottles. I would suggest grabbing one each of everything they have. Try some Raspberry Eisbock and BB4D on tap. Grab a growler of DRIPA.

They will probably have bottles for take-home, but I think people had mentioned that BA4D and Raspberry Eisbock are sold out now. No food, but the tap list is always killer, honestly, and you're allowed to bring in food or have it delivered (they even have a couple of delivery menus available for your convenience). If you're looking to score some of their tougher gets, probably not worth the trip, but if you're just looking to try a bunch of their beers, definitely worth it.

    My $0.02.

Definitely worth the trip, should have bottles and growlers available.

Also if you are in Brighton I recommend heading over to the Shark Club in Howell. 60+ taps and 70+ pinball machines, plus a poker room.

Witchs Hat brewery is in South Lyon which is pretty close to Brighton. They also do not have good but they have good beer.

    What he said.

If the worth is based on what they have, find out what they have on tap and for take home and decide if it is worth it for you. If you just want to try some of their stuff, but don't care about speciifcs, then go.

You should definitely go, huge taplist of great beers. Champanes is also really close to the brewery and has a solid selection of beers.

Kuhnhenn does do a couple little pizzas but as others have said, not generally a stop for food. DRIPA, and Simcoe Sillier were on tap when I was there last week, DRIPA is amazing. Plus you never really know what they have for bottles so it doesn't hurt to ask...

Second Witches Hat. If you are in Milford for some reason, hit Palate.

Just wanted to update that I did go to Kuhnhenn today, and man was it worth it!! KRE and BB4D on tap, not to mention all the other deliciousness! Got a paddle of Dripa, Simcoe Silly, KRE, BB4D and Java Stout...only $12!!! Amazing deal. Simcoe Silly and KRE were the highlights for me, but all were fantastic. I couldn't believe how easy drinking and tasty KRE was for 16% alcohol. Simply incredible! Looking forward to the bottle I was gifted so generously by Andygirl. Thanks again! Also tried a Blue Raspberry Mead which was very interesting and tasty in it's own right. A little strange to get used to at first, as it was the color of Windex! Haha. Never had anything like it. Anyways, I would recommend the trip to anyone! Bought a bottle of Simcoe Sillier and a T-Shirt to go. Fantastic day at Kuhnhenn!!

Interesting, I have never noticed a overwhelming bad smell when I have been to Kuhnhenns and I go monthly for my homebrew club. Sometimes you can smell them brewing, but I love that smell. I always found Big Rock to be pretentious, and didnt go there much even though I live pretty close.

Agree..The one time ive been there when the smell was "bad" was when they were brewing...Agree about Big Rock too..But I generally feel that way about a bunch of places in Birmingham..And also, I hope he is just talking about the brewery and not the beer..

Big rock is Griffen claw, and I prefer their beer, just an opinion
