    Just got back from a bit of a tasting down at J. Ryan's in Syracuse, which included a few local BAs (syracusebeernerd, skrek806, bentonquest, and myself). And it was a lot of fun, with a few good sours . . .

    Perennial Savant Beersel
    The Bruery Smoking Wood
    The Bruery Sour in the Rye
    The Bruery Fruet
    The Beer Diviner Ancient Gruit Ale
    KBS 2011 & 2013
    Surly Abrasive
    Ithaca Brute (2010)

    First, Abrasive is a world-class DIPA. Second, Sour in the Rye was fantastic. Third, 2013 KBS was waaaaay better than 2011 KBS—why would anyone want the coffee to go away? Fourth, Brute and Savant were excellent, and the latter has a really, really unique, tannic character that works incredibly well. But Brute was just excellent, through and through.

    It's good, has that standard Lagunitas hop profile. The imperial red last year was much more piney...at least thats what i remember. This kinda reminds me of undercover but not as strong and more drinkable.

    Meats are Italian Dry Sausage and Italian Dry Salami. Cheese are extra sharp cheddar, smoked Gouda, blue, and morel mushroom and leak Monterey Jack. Living the dream.
