    Just a few years ago, South Korea was tough place to live for those who enjoy a good brew. While it ain’t beer heaven yet, things are improving steadily thanks to some of the bigger retailers. My latest haul in Daegu, South Korea, included a few each of those pictured here.

    If the Budějovický Budva seems out of place in the in the otherwise 'world-class' haul, then understand that they sell for less than $2 a bottle in Daegu. I pick up a bunch of them at a time as my ‘staple beer’ because they are much better than anything local. There are some decent micro-brews popping up, mostly around Seoul, but I’ve yet to have a good Korean bottled brew. To me, the best Korean brew is the OB Golden Lager, which has some decent malt flavor, but it’s boring at best. Too bad – I like supporting local brews!

    Anyhow, anyone in Korea? Got some ideas?

    Beer me.

    I've been in that place and they have dusty bottles on the shelves that are old as shit...make sure you check the bottle dates. First time I went in there, didn't check ended up with red rocket that was a year old.
