Good morning beloved craft beer buccaneers,

Mid-MI is a gloriously perfect model of spring! Sunny, slight breeze and budding foliage abound! I am a happy man.

And I am a very late for an appointment man, also. With that said, enjoy a new beer or two, DRINK them, then come back here and give us a detailed report. Colorful commentary, links to your formal reviews, and pics are awesome! Speaking of pics and links, can somebody guide me to how I can post a pic of my new beer?

With this tiny briefing said, I bid you a good day and good drinkin'!

In the undying spirit of craft beer,

    malty

I've been taking pictures with a smartphone or iPad and uploading to photobucket. Then you can copy and paste the HTML tag. Super easy once you set up the account.

    ***New American IPA Sunday!!!

G'day Malty and to the rest of the NBS crew!

It's supposed to get up in the mid 60s today and I'm going to head out to a local pub...The Keg & Cork to enjoy a few WY brews on draught with a good burger.

My new beer, got in a trade with Andygirl:

New Belgian Pale Ale (Session ale) Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's,

Hopefully my last gripe about what a gawdawful spring we've had here. I had 14 inches of snow on my deck this past week (a record for May snow around these parts) and I live in southern MN! I was like shoveling buckets of water. Much damage to trees around town, including a couple of my own. Still some snow around and maybe by the end of the day it will mostly be gone as we might hit the low 60's today. This is unlike any spring I've ever experienced. Farmers's haven't touched their fields yet. Oh well. Life goes on.

And so it does... and beer gets made and then it gets consumed. This week I'm hitting one of two new summer beers put out by two of our MN born regional breweries. (In the next week or two I will review the other). I suppose there is a third with the newer Surly beer too-I suppose they will be regional before long.

Anyway, a fine beer for the summer with a strong yeast character.

    Best to all this week.

Greetings fellow NBSers! A warm and sunny day herein the Fourth Corner, we had a pretty nice week overall, and it looks like the nice weather will be sticking around for a bit. I'm just watching NASCAR, and a bit later will be heading over OKComputer's house for tacos and cerveza. Not sure if there are any new brews for me today, so I'm going to cheat and post a couple new brews I had last night (it was Sunday BA time), and we'll see what's on tap in a bit.

New American Blonde Ale Sunday here at the way-to-cool (in temps) Jersey Shore.

Yesterday was mid-sixties and abundant sunshine, today was supposed to be more of the same. Instead, the mercury dropped and the sun is just peeking out some this afternoon. It seems more like 4/5 rather than 5/5.

An early t-time made for early beers and an early appearance here on NBS, where it's all about the beer. So here goes: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/19897/67579/?ba=NiceTaps. The numbers may not show it, but this brew measures up as an 'after-golf refreshment'.

All the best to the NBS group, Cheers!

    NEW BERLINER WEISS SUNDAY

Happy NBS everyone! Up at 5:00 a.m. to get started on the pork butt on another perfect sunday here in Lancaster county. What an incredible run of fantastic spring weather lately!

I went shopping for some Aventinus to enjoy with the pulled pork and I had this while I browsed the store.

A bit of a disappointment on an otherwise excellent day. Anyway, I'm off for a walk with the little guy before dinner.

    Cheers guys!

Based on the few things I've had from NG I'm sure that will be an awesome beer. My local Iron Hill makes a great Berliner that I've enjoyed many times. Given all the great German style beer made in my area I'm surprised there are't more to be had. Oh well enjoy your NG and have a Berliner for me. :-)

    NEW AMERICAN IPA SUNDAY

Greetings NBS faithful! Weather in Central OH is decidedly spring-like. Enjoyed my son's flag football and celebrating passing one of my accounting exams with this beauty from Uinta. Not only is it new to me but this brewery is newly distributing to Central OH. Couldn't be happier as everything I've had from them is solid.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

    New Herb/Spiced Beer Sunday

Greetings, NBSers. Cold and rainy all weekend in the greater St. Louis area. Ran some errands, went to some events, but no outdoor enjoyment this weekend. But, some good beer drank!

This is from a local St. Louis brewery, Urban Chestnut, that is starting to make a name for themselves by putting out some great brews.

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24764/70516/?ba=FanofHefe

A very solid beer, that tastes like certain spicy Belgian brews and is very solid overall. Glad I was able to pick up my first 4-pack of these bottles this week.

    Prost!

Man, took me all day to get to this! Working on the computer since, like, 9:00 am. Finally wrapped up and ready for work tomorrow around 5:30 pm.

    Meanwhile...
Delightful and brisk spring day outside:
Been listening to Volbeat most of the week, but right now I'm tuning into the most recent Amorphis album: Circle - a little Finnish melodic death/folk metal - it's a take-it-or-leave-it type of sound, I know, but I've been a fan since their Elegy album back in 1996.
Someone put it up on YouTube if you're curious:

Picked up Full Sail's Bourbon barrel aged Imperial stout this week - the site has it called the Black Gold Imperial Stout, although it no longer says that on the label. I had their bourbon barrel aged porter a while back and found it pretty mediocre, but I probably lean more toward the stout than the porter as a beer drinker.
Gave a nice pour into my snifter. I love being able to center-pour with impunity.
    The result:
The bourbon was big and up-front on the nose and tongue, which is the goal, I suppose.
No surprises here: bourbon wove through the bittersweet chocolate and cold espresso flavors. Lighter notes of vanilla and oak kept it dry and light. Felt somewhat thin for an Imperial, but I found it no less enjoyable. Not a pricey bottle in my area (like $10?), and an appropriate abv (9.6%) for the style. Of course it warmed really well, and as of now, its drinking really nicely.

Well, that does it for me , I guess. Gonna enjoy the rest of this with some Carr's table water crackers and Boar's Head gouda cheese.

Hope you all have a great New Beer Sunday.

    Cheers!

New Belgian Pale Ale (Session ale) Sunday

I am also having a New Belgiian Pale Ale, from New Belgium Brewing in fact. I am trying out Rolle Bolle before I slice up a lime and switch to XX while I grill the Guadalajara beef for Cinco de Mayo. I spent yesterday at a commencement ceremony watching my youngest graduate from Washington State University, so we have much to celebrate today at my house. Independence from the WSU accounts receivable office. Arriba!

Rolle Bolle is a light and crisp pale ale, sweeter and less bitter than the American style. Good on a hot day or even a warm one like today.

Sunny and warm here in the Columbia Basin, with temps in the upper 70's Man this weekend just flew by.

    Happy Trails and GO COUGS!

    New Saison Sunday

Greetings NBS from Southern, CT. Another great spring day. After a weekend of getting tons of work done at home I once again failed at having my NB for S before 5pm. Better late than never for this Evil Twin beer which was actually brewed about 1/2 hour away with Two Roads:

New American IPA Sunday: Southern Hemisphere Harvest

Was expecting this one to be really hoppy, but was surprised with a well balanced IPA.

The smell was a bit lacking but definitely made up with the taste. this beer had a good overall slight sweetness throughout the taste. Orange, peach, pine needles, and fresh cut grass all mingle on the palate.

The mouthfeel was most surprising: full bodied, thick, and creamy.

It's like a DFH 60min. but better. Try it out if you get the chance.

New Amber ale/chili beer from the mitten state.

Beautiful weekend in West MI. Blue skies, temps well into the 70s. Perfect weather for yesterday's trail race along the Lake Michigan shore in Skee-town. Only 5k, but the relentless, sugary sand and onslaught of dunes kicked my tail.

Took care of things around the house, played outside with my boys, time to wrap things up with a new brew.

This is one of those beers that I have a feeling is pretty good, just not to my taste. My scoring may be a touch low. I just found the peppers to overwhelm the senses. I assume this was the brewer's intent.

    Greeting's NBSers,
Gorgeous day in the city where streets were overrun by "Bloomies." If it didn't hit 80, it was damn close. I foolishly agreed to fill in for someone at work this am. Afterwards I decided to stop by the 2-7 Pub to see what their Sunday $2 "kill the keg" special was. It turned out to be Blue Moon:slight_frown:
Feeling betrayed I went home and opened up a Uinta Hop Notch:
    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1416/73764/?ba=woemad
Considering how much Mattcrill's view of this beer's hoppiness differs from mine, I can only assume I had an older bottle. Still, it was super-drinkable, with no hint of it's 7%+ abv.

Back with another one. Quarter after nine, sun gone down, and it's still nearly 70 degrees out. Maybe there's something to this spring-summer thing.
