CA beer in cans

    hello all -

    i'm visiting san diego for a week starting on wednesday with the fam. i already know i'm going to be drinking plenty cans of tecate (and i don't care what you think), but my questions is this, what cali brands are good in cans? i live in boston, and would love to buy a few things that i can't get back east. i love a good ipa (4-6%), but also like things like bitter american, and abita amber (sessionable).i was recently in austin texas and enjoyed many cans of pearl snap pils.

    any suggestions would be great.

    I can't think of any notable breweries in CA that use cans that aren't available in Boston. Brewers that can generally have pretty wide distro.

    EDIT: You don't get New Belgium, and they have a few things available in cans. That's all I can come up with.

    BP now has Longfin Lager / Pale Ale / Sclupin / Big Eye in cans. You can also get Maui, Oskar Blues, New Belgium, and Sierra Nevada cans (though those aren't SoCal breweries.)

    ballast point is not giving sd cans right now since they are trying to get it out to their other markets i heard (would LOVE to be proven wrong!)

    new belgium! other than that not many! sun king?

    Bine and Vine has all four in the fridge. Picked up a sixer of Pale Ale to pair with my BP Bloody Mary mix.

    Yeah they do... though I am of the opinion that the IPA and the Hef are not very good.

    i dont think anyone is getting new stock. but i work all the time and never shop so what do i know besides what i hear! like i said, hope its not true!

    Had Sculpin from a can the other day. Best beer I've had in my life, from a can. (Never had Head Topper).

    Not sure what you will find it in SD, but these are some canned beers available in SF Bay Area that haven't already been mentioned:

    Evil Twin Hipster Ale and Bikini Beer
    Midnight Sun Snowshoe White and Sockeye Red IPA
    Uinta Baba Black Lager
    Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Pale Ale
    Golden Road Wolf Among Weeds DIPA and Get Up Offa That Brown ale

    You probably can't get these breweries in Mass. They all do cans for some or all of their beers.

    Golden Road
    Ruhstaller
    Devil's Canyon
