Second beer...what's your glassware procedure?

This is meant to be an informal thread, not a "you're right/you're wrong" kind of thing.

Out of curiosity: when you're having more than one drink at home (or anyplace where you're managing your own glassware), what do you do when your first beer is gone? Do you wash out the glass with soap and water, dry it, and resume? Do you go for an entirely new glass? Do you simply rinse it out, shake out the drops, and pour the next brew? Does which beer(s) you're drinking have anything to do with it?

For me, most of my purchases are nothing "special" - think $35 or less for a case. On the extremely rare occasion that I'm actually having more than one drink in a sitting (party animal, I know), I generally just use my go-to 15oz mug, and give it a good rinse & sniff before pouring the second drink. I don't let a a few drops of water on the sides of the glass stop me from pouring. I've never had any bad experiences this way.

How about the rest of you?

    Same style, no rinse.
Different style, good rinse required, that's it.

No need for a special glass. Almost everything can be had in a snifter.

I like my brandy snifter it's my catch all on glasses but I just usually rinse my glass between a little water droplets won't hurt a brew. I however have different glasses but will not Change glasses for different beers I like a snifter for the best aromas

It depends if it is the same beer or a different one, and completely different if it is something special. If it is the same beer, I usually just fill it back up, ignoring lacing on the sides or anything else. If it is different but nothing special, I usually just wash it out, give it a few shakes to get the water out, and fill it back up.

If it is something special though, I usually choose a different glass, as I like to air-dry most of my glasses. Also, I only hand wash with cold water only, and a clean bar rag if I decide to dry it out by hand. Soap can mess with head retention, and over time the soap plus hot water can take the design off the outside of your glass.

Rinse with hot water in the kitchen sink, running my hand around the rim with each turn. Turn it upside town in the drying rack and let it air dry if I have the patience. If not I'll dry off the outside, and fling as many of the drops left on the inside onto my floor.

I typically use a new glass per beer because I am usually grading beers when I'm home.

I think glass selection goes to more the art and enjoyment of collecting I'm all about the brandy snifter as far as any beer goes

I usually start my picking whatever glassware I feel like using and more often than not, I try to keep it to the style of the beer. If it's the same beer, I'll just pour it into the same glass. If it's a different beer, I'll rinse and then pour.

Right into the glass no rinse. Would rather a couple droplets of my last beer taint my glass rather than my city's rank ass tap water.

Rinse with hot water thoroughly and then rinse again with cold water. Shake out water drops as best as possible. Fill with next beer. Enjoy.

Try drinking a pale ale out of a glass that just held a flanders red. You may rethink that statement.

Careful there; the sudden change of temperature can cause the glass to break. Speaking from experience albeit years ago. Lesson learned.

rinse unless same beer, shake no more than twice or it feels like I'm playing with it, and fill.
    Repeat.
