So I'm sipping on some Victory Storm King, basically for the first time since I was pretty smashed the first time I tried it.

I think it's delicious, and would love to try some Dark Intrigue. I hear this was discontinued last year, and I've had more trouble hooking up with someone that can spare one of these, than I have getting Grey Monday and stuff like that.

So basically, what does this take in Belgian terms? Is this somewhere in the middle category (Fou Foune-ish) or does it take something bigger? Anyone that has a bottle to spare and is up for a quick-and-easy two bottle trade can wing me a BM.

These bottles are literally just sitting on the shelf....everywhere....for less than $16 in most places. You should have exactly zero trouble working out a trade. Just gotta find someone willing to ship internationally.

Bottles are sitting here collecting dust all over Brooklyn grocery stores. You shouldnt have much trouble, other than finding someone who wants to ship internationally.

    edit...beat by Mr. Knife.

If you're ever in London I'll open one with you.

Dark Intrigue is unfortunately nowhere near as good as regular Storm King, which is probably why it's collecting dust in bottle shops all over the states.

I'll see how many I can find.... probably a lot. I agree though, Dark Intrigue will be a pretty big disappointment for you.....

Cracked a 2011 bottle last night, wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. I wouldn't waste the shipping on it personally, but each to his own.

You need to compile a list of these easy to get US bottles and have someone who owes you a favor goandpickthatshitupforyoubro.

There is a logical explanation for this: it tastes like shit.
Trust me, Victory is doing everyone a favour here.

    1) it's not as bad as people are saying. i think it's pretty great actually.

    2) it's exactly as easy to get as people are saying. you're giving a gift if you give fou foune (but why not?).

If you think it's pretty great, I wonder what else you like.

Dennis, if you get desperate enough and are not in a rush I can order it online for you and have my co-worker ship it out, you could just paypal me whatever the beer+shipping costs are. It will probably take a while though (next month preferably).

It's a gift in a sense, but if you're going to pay $50 or whatever to ship internationally, the bottle you get in return needs to be something better than what Dark Intrigue would trade for domestically.

It's not as bad as people say, but I enjoy Storm King and when I drink Dark Intrigue, I'm always flabbergasted that Victory managed to make a beer worse by putting it in a bourbon barrel.

I loved the bottle I had! It had mellowed nicely!

I assure you, FFF has also accomplished this.

I agree. I certainly like it better now than when it was first released. That said, it's really nothing special.
