Does anybody else find that these two beers taste almost exactly the same, with the only difference being that Third Shift costs quite a bit more money? At a bar with a limited tap list tonight, I ordered a Third Shift ... turned out to cost a bit over $6 for a 20oz, while a Batch 19 I got a couple months ago was $2.50 for a pint.

Also, the waitress said there was a deal on domestics because the Wings were on (GO WINGS!), but apparently Third Shift (despite being made by Coors) wasn't considered one.

I remember Batch 19 being a tad hoppier. Its a poor mans Brooklyn Lager. Third shift was more malty and sweet like a cheap marzen.

Batch 19 is supposed to be a pre-prohbition lager whereas Third shift is a amber lager. That alone pretty much sums up their differences.

They're both not awful brews in my opinion but obviously would reach for a local option if given the choice. (I miss you, Narragansett Lager!!!)

I have never tried them, so I have no clue how they taste. I will never try them either.

Was at a Target tonight buying beer for my girlfriend and her friends for their night out. Was told to select either Sierra Nevada or "something else me and my friends might like." Ended up staring at a sixer of Batch 19 wondering "should I buy this so I can tick a bottle?" Ended up grabbing the SNPA.

I had Batch 19 on tap before Coors bottled it, and it wasn't bad at all.

Third Shift, eh, it's little more than a crappier Yuengling.

I thought the Batch 19 had some pretty intense BK Rodeo Burger notes while Third Shift leans more towards a traditional Whopper flavor profile.

Every visit's a couple cents in my pocket, keep it coming!

And how is saying, "This beer is really light, crisp, and refreshing! Really enjoyable, and highly recommended!" any less embarrassing? Just a thought.

    Now, commence senseless "insults".

You read my mind. I was just about to post in Beer & Food "What beer should I pair with my shitty fast food?"
