Cool name and cool minimalist artwork. You lose!

Soooooo glad to hear this. I f only everyone would boycott the large beer companies like you do the world would be exactly the same.

I've never seen Batch 19 around here. Would like to try it. Third shift is not too bad, actually, but a little too pricey, for me.

They've always had Killian's, though. I'm guessing that it has been so dumbed down over the years that they needed a fresh start with a new brand. I haven't tried either of these beers, but I'm imagining they are pretty close to the Killian's of the 80s, which did have some flavor to it.

Of course Killian's irish/importish history backstory is so 1980's, that they had to come up with a marketing slant that more properly aligns with the millenials' view of the beer world.

I can actually envision some of the scholars on here holding their beer glass with nose slightly elevated and pinky extended.

The name "Batch 19" doesn't exactly excite the senses, does it?

Not at all and Third Shift implies nocturnal people are making the beer. Yikes!

Additionally, I'm pretty sure "Miller" isn't a very appealing name, and the artwork is nothing but mediocre text ... their beer sells fine and well.

    Just sayin'.

I had Batch 19 last night because I found it for $5.59 a sixer and I liked it quite a bit. Not a Yuengling. Also not worth $8.99 for a sixer when you can get something like Victory Hop Devil or Prima Pils for $9.49 but I would buy for $5.59 easily.

They cater to a different market and have an established brand that is older than your grandpa's underwear. Keep swingin'. :grinning:

I like the name 3rd Shift. I've worked it far too often. You learn which restaurants serve beer at 9 am, and while everyone else is enjoying breakfast, you're winding down.

Some of my friends will drink Miller Lite exclusively, and there are plenty of commercials out there that show twenty-somethings drinking it, so.

Age of the consumer has nothing to do with my previous post.

Regardless, there are plenty of craft bottles that are rather bland.

I'm trying to keep an open mind so today I tried Third Shift (again), Batch 19 and Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy (just because it was next to the Batch 19 in the store). I don't not like Third Shift, Sam I am. It doesn't smell good or taste good. I do not like in a house I do not like it with a mouse. Batch 19 was ok. I though the taste was similar to Michelob. The Summer Shandy was far and away my favorite of the 3.

Not once did i say anything about the comments having to be happy nor did i mention the words beer snob.

If you want to be an asshole thats totally fine, but at least provide some form of insight. Answering a simple question with 'I never and will never have _____ beer' is a completely useless statement and a waste of everyones time reading .

Its like answering "blue vs red, what color do you like more and why?"

    with

"i dont care. Both blue and red are stupid. They suck ass. Have a good time talking about ugly colors!!!"

It does nothing to answer the question at hand. The only purpose of an "answer" like that is to be boisterious and try to act cool so peple will notice you. If you dont like either beers, fine just say it if you really need to but there is no reason to criticize other prople who were trying to be helpful by answering a simple question.

I stopped at Southtown Beverages Friday and they had cases of Batch 19 for $ 17.99 so I picked one up. For that price it is quite a beer value. I found a couple of websites that claim it has an IBU rating of 26 which put it at a nice moderate hoppiness.
