Why isn't CBS a regular yearly release?

Why would founders not make CBS a regular release, yearly, bi yearly, whatever. Have a CBS day at founders... Smething. With a beer that good, why is it only brewed once? I guessing its hard to find those barrels, or some of the ingredients are pricey, but they could charge 30+ a bottle and they would sell out in seconds...

    I just don't get it.

Well, I'd bet a few dollars that they release it again. Likely at the end of this year. Also, I don't imagine it is easy to make... With the maple bourbon barrels being rare and pricey. I sincerely believe it wont be a one hit wonder and that us who didn't get a chance the first time around will get a chance this time.

Exactly this. Maple Bourbon barrels are hard to get and CBS will definitely be back in the future.

Somewhat random question - Did they use the same kind of maple bourbon barrels for the Curmudgeon's Better Half that they used for CBS?

Mayhap that's why he's only willing to bet a few dollars, and not his entire life savings :grinning:

Good point i guess haha, i guess im saying if they relied on the same source distillery for both beers that might delay a future release of CBS or imply that they are more interested in experimenting with a variety of beers in the same barrels...

In years past the keg release has been August. Only one bottle release thus far though.

I would tend to agree with TwelveOz, I have felt the last few backstage releases have been flops, with the fact that CBS is FAR past its prime, they could be doing it again in the next year or so, or should be doing it again in the next year or so. But what do i know, i just sell the stuff.

Lets just be happy it isn't a weekly overpriced release like somewhere in IN.

I think/hope so. I tried CBH and it was heavenly, seriously one of the best beers I have ever had. Didnt get the chance to try CBS though.

Well, I couldn't even get KBS this year. If CBS came out, I'd be out of luck with that, too, so...

Doesn't matter to me if it comes out or not.

It's definitely not for some sinister reason, that's for sure. If it makes people happy and makes Founder's money, they would do it.

I have Alpha King, Gumballhead, Pride & Joy, and Zombie Dust from Three Floyds, but they're all 3 months old -- the Zombie Dust is an entirely different beer.

I'm not TOO bothered by it, because I figure I'll try both beers at some point. I have plenty of other beers to try for now anyway.
