Actually, where I live, fed-ex will not come pick my packages up...and fwiw, I had taken steps to get the package, with triple the amount of beers owed, sent out before any of this became part of a public forum. Had this thread not gotten started, his box would've still gone out this week.

With that said, I hope the extra 8 bottles I threw in are enjoyed, along with the original 4.

Also, I agree with CaveDave that my lifestyle is such that I should always send first...cannot argue with that.

Well then, I see I'm late to the party.

The submission came in at the same time as a few others and I must have missed it. I'm just glad everything is looking up on this one.

Thanks to everybody who responded? The package was on its way out before this thread ever happened. Your welcome for the extra 8 bottles including some killer bourbon barrel aged extras like Hardywood GBS.

Happy to hear that everything is settled.

This thread may now be deleted.

Edit: No need to delete this thread. People should see the attitude of the trader even though he made good... eventually.

    That about sums it up.

The attitude first came from IamJackHopsTongue when I let him know, immediately, that I wouldn't be able to get one of his beers for a few weeks. I offered not only to replace it with a different vintage of same brew, but also to add in growlers of that same brew to make up for it. He was rude about it right off the bat.

of course I sent him a bunch of extra beers for the delay. That has nothing to do with being called out on here. I offered to do that from the get-go even though the attitude on the other end was like none I've received on here before.

I left the box with my brother because I didn't have time to drop it at fed-ex on my way to my brother's house, and fed-ex picks up from his house..not mine. The point of my last post was that this thread had nothing to do with the timing of the package being sent. That was in the works days before, as evidenced by Hopbully's post regarding the matter(Hopbully is my brother, fyi). Regardless of why there was a delay, I did not have to send 8 extra bottles to make up for it. I offered to do that, initially, because I felt it was the right thing to do. I could've sent anything to fill up the box but I sent things like Hardywood GBS...because I felt it was the right thing to do. If you care so much about my integrity with regards to beer trades, feel free to chat with Sandman3479, Bluewolf17, Baybum, Shuntstout, Kwaz, McNuts, Shilt as those are the most recent people I've completed trades with & they have all said they'd gladly trade with me again &/or look forward to it.

I've apologized to IamJackHopsTongue & sent 8 extra bottles his way. I am glad his bottles arrived safely & if any had not, I would've sent more. I hope he enjoys them. There's nothing left for me to say here.

    Cheers

as far as I am concerned, one is completely justified in being rude/having attitude/being upset when one agrees on a specific trade, ships a box, the recipient receives the box, and then informs the sender that they cannot send, to the letter, what was agreed upon.

maybe I'm an asshole, but I'd immediately ask for my box back. the end.

just because some people will let that slide does not mean it's ok.

Agreed, that's why you apologize and offer to add multiple things in its place that are pretty awesome, which I did. Nothing more one can do other than apologize and go above and beyond what's expected to make it right. Mistakes happen, sometimes. There's no need for an attitude when someone makes a mistake regarding 1 of the beers and offers an apology, as well as multiple bottles and growlers to make it right. I understand being unhappy/disappointed but to have an attitude right off the bat is a little much, in my opinion. It's not how I'd treat someone and not how I wanna be treated. To each his own, though.

    Cheers

I'd much rather someone be pissed and ask for their box back than get an attitude and scoff at a generous replacement offer. I'd have gladly sent his box back with extras in it as an apology.
