I had a friend do that with a shiner bock that had been in a styrofoam cooler for 3 years behind my garage. My other friends paid him a total of 60 bucks.

Stick it in a barrel or glass secondary, then forget about it for a year. Then bottle and forget about it for another 3 to 6 months. Then try it.

Pretty confident this is a troll thread, but a funny one at that.

Not really. I'm just ignorant. Been drinking craft for about 6 years. Never homebrewed, I like wild/sours.

The blonde ale kit that comes with the mr beer can come out pretty good if you do it right. a buddy made it on his mr beer kit and we were both surprised that it came out just fine. it wasn't anything special, but it was still tasty beer.

you can do a lot with that little plastic barrel if you do your homework. I'm thinking of bringing mine home and doing small batches of saisons here (I have my full kit at my bro's property).

Mr. Beer has a spigot. Take out an ounce and try the damn thing. It is not going to harm you. We are all interested in how your open air fermentation vessel worked!

The hairiness is a bit concerning but from the pic it looks like a fairly normal pellicle. The wild yeast make that to protect the beer from O2. Did you pitch any other yeast with the dregs? I used the dregs from 2 Uberkinds in my barrel at home, thats the best JK beer to sour with right now. Dont pasteurize your beer unless you want to stop it from changing. Be sure you keep those bottles in a place you dont mind having beer all over because the chances of you having bottle bombs is pretty high... Nice use of a Mr Beer kit! BTW if you want to brew clean beer dont use anything that beer touched unless it was glass or metal.

He bottled it already. If only there were some way to taste beer that has been bottled, without opening them all.

    Okay, I tasted it.

    Appearance: cloudy orangish yellow collor

    Smell: Bread and Yams.

TASTE: It tasted kinda like one of those smokey-tasting Fantome Saisons. I had a Fantome Printemps thursday that reminded me of this. That's about all I can say. Bready and Saisony... I just took a small sip, spit it out, and then used everclear as mouth wash. to kill anything deadly, hopefully.

    Overall: No. Just No.

I have made a decent saison, but the smell is putting me off.
