    Goose Island Sofie with lunch: An Angus burger topped with Cheddar, Bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a smoked Buffalo bluefish spread. Good way to start a Tuesday, if I do say myself.

    How did the red wine and oak flavor do with a blonde ale? Was is subtle or overpowering with a more delicate type of beer?

    Trying this for the first time. I don't think I'm a fan. The idea definitely sounds better than this is tasting to me.

    Its pretty subtle, not very overpowering at all but you can definitely taste it. I also did a white wine version of the same base beer and its super easy drinking with a nice white wine dry finish.
