So I am posting this because I would like some attention to be brought to this fellow and see if anyone has dealt with him before. He is newer and joined BA back in Feb. Well this guy posted last week ISO of flower power. So I contacted him about setting up a trade for this and we bout communicated very often and frequently to set up a trade for some of his NC locals. So we decided on a trade and that we would ship on Wednesday (may 8th) so I shipped his box out which was he received Friday. Well he failed to ship my box and sent me a message at 12 something AM on Friday saying he was shipping Friday. So my box should have been delivered yesterday (Tuesday May 14th) possibly even Monday but definitely Tuesday. So on Friday evening to try and spark a conversation I asked him if he got his box safe and sound and no response, but he viewed this message not longer after I sent it. So than Saturday I sent another message asking him if he ever had a tracking number for my box yet, again NO RESPONSE but he again viewed this message and than went and posted on his ISO thread and said "closed, thanks" So he has been viewing my messages and not responding. So I sent another message yesterday evening May 14th asking him what the deal was and whats up and still nothing. He was active today as he has a logged time. But still nothing. So this may be a little premature but I am getting really frustrated as he received his box with an extra fresh bomber of one of my favorite local IPA's and he still has yet to acknowledge me. I mean if he has become busy and can't send my box yet for some reason okay fine make some excuse up or something, but hell contact me here with some info and stop reading my messages and posting on the ISO thread that its closed. Here is the link to his original thread. http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...r-power-jai-alai-ft-imp-kashmir-locals.87652/

So basically if anyone has dealt with this guy or knows him help me out some please. Thanks

For someone that new to BA, I'd have pretty much insisted on him shipping first. I realize this doesn't help you get your beer, but just sayin'.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Way too many people are starting meaningless "I have a bad trader" threads by giving no names these days.
It is nice to see someone that actually cares enough to warn the community.

I'm adding him to my list regardless if he makes "the list".

You will get a lot of defenders in this thread saying you did this too soon, but it is nice for anyone currently with a trade in the works with him to see this and think long and hard about it instead of potentially getting screwed later.

Life happens... blah blah, but if he has read the posts he should have responded one of those days.
Communication is just damn courtesy and that seems to be going away from the trading forum.

EXACTLY WHY I POSTED THIS! I figured I would get some hate for posting this so soon but I am just simply looking out for other people here since he has failed to just drop a sentence since he has viewed the messaged and confirmed his thread closed. Hoping this post gets some attention and his attention the most.

The moral of the story, as always, is you absolutely need to require new traders to ship first.

I'm not going to pounce on you for submitting this too early, as he clearly has some explaining to do, but a week late to ship isn't quite at "you're never going to see your beer" level.

Whether he ships or not, he's proven that his communication is bad, which is enough to keep me away. If he has time to read emails, and time to scroll the boards, he has 1 minute to respond and let you know whats going on. To not do so is an intentional act, and a bad move.

I don't understand why these new traders still aren't forced to ship first.

You would be very surprised the amount of people, even very active veterans, who blow off messages and ship dates when boxes are owed.

Yes, for somebody with a few trades under their belt, absolutely. But I'm not convinced he even knows proper trade etiquette. Things like responding promptly to a BM, or shipping when you say you will ship, unfortunately are not common sense for everybody.

In other words, these are the precise reasons why a new trader should always ship first. Odds are high that they will screw something up, not out of malice, but out of inexperience.

Especially since he read my messages, and even posted on the thread on Saturday the day after his package arrived that the ISO was closed. I hope someone else out there didn't send him the Jai Alai he was seeking as well .... if so hopefully they see this thread and chime in.

It's already been said, and I'm sure you know it now, but you really should have made him ship first. I always do that with new(er) traders. I mean, this guy has 3 posts, joined in 2013 and has one "trade" listed - that should be enough right there. If they refuse to ship first, then oh well, onto the next trade. Plus, that would initially raise suspicion too especially if you are an established trader.

Hope this works out for you in the end, OP.
