1 bottle limit, wtf?!

Yep the manager lady is notorious for the one bottle limit. All dr and pumpkinator ages done 1 bottle limit. This is the first karbach limited they have gotten

Also side note spoke with Ryan at specs smith and he said only thing they have heard about KBS is this week but nothing else. Says they will most likely sell singles only with a 1 to 2 bottle limit depending on how much they get.

 

that's just incorrect. they got krunkin, and 003 at least. not sure about 001 or 002, i didn't search them out.

hell even the specs on nasa and in kemah got bbh the last go-round. they had no purchase limits too.

anyways, i picked up a single at bay area after going back in.

i still am tempted to pick up a case of V@S every time i'm there... so i got one bottle to drink tonight to see how it's holding up. i'd imagine the coffee is falling and the vanilla is coming out more. we shall see.

 

Humm.. well did not know they got those. Tried them during those releases and they knew nothing of them... Guess I hit them at wrong times.

 

I was going to say the same thing but wasn't sure if he was talking about the last Specs mentioned in this thread (Spring Valley) and I don't even know where that store is. I got some 003 from Bay Area and NASA last go round.

 

Well guess I need to frequent them more and keep on top of them during the special releases. For a long time I had given up on the Specs Clear lake on getting anything good. But it seems they are getting more good stuff lately.

I work about 5 minutes from that Specs and used to go in but was always fustrated talking to them as they never seem to know about any special releases or when/what they were getting. This was when the kid with the crooked ball cap used to work there. Not sure who is the main beer guy now. Seems I talk to a different person each time I am in there lately.

 

She would only give me one bottle of the regular Hellfighter when it came out! I then went to the Shell station in Friendswood and Charles let me buy as much as I wanted.

 

Any updates for the area north of Houston (humble) my dad said he would try again tonight so I called the Kroger stores and HEB but they all acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Thanks for the help y'all.

Drinking a 005 right now. I feel like the bourbon is way lighter on this one, the base beer really shines. It's been a few months since I've had a 003 so I can't get into specifics on differences other than I think this one isn't as bourbon forward. I'm really enjoying it none the less.

 

I have not cracked any of my 005 bottles yet, but have had it on cask at Hay Merchant and Cottonwood recently. Mellow on the barrels, awesome vanilla, deep dark bakers chocolate, great base porter. Amazing on cask anyway.

 

I'll toss you a bottle bro.

 

IIRC, that is why Karbach only let it sit in the barrels a short time so the Hellifighter can come through. 003 was delicious. Can't wait to try the 005.

 

Not to break up the 005 chat, but Love Street Kolsch is now on at The Growler Room in ATX.

 

Had it yesterday on tap at Boondoggles. Tasted a lot lot like a Lawnmower, not my fav style but good for the summer months.

 

I'm still going to age one 005 but I honestly don't see a point. With the bourbon as mellow as it is, I don't see much benefit. Ill keep 1 for a special occasion rather than to see how it fares.

 

Got one in the freezer chilling to celebrate CLOSING ON MY FIRST HOUSE EVER!! If I knew how to post pics I would...
