I will be in Philly over the Memorial day weekend. Are there any must hit places/Breweries? My buddy wants to go to DFH on Saturday to check it out since neither of us have ever been..

    Cheers,

I give the Gas Face to going all the way down there.

    Much better local brews

    Tired Hands
    Forest and Main
    Dock Street......Great Pizza too
Earth Bread and Brewery......a few good bar right in that area too

MANY great beer bars in Center City as well.

    Enjoy

    THANK YOU. :grinning:

Also OP - DFH is alright if you've never been, but there's such a ridiculous amount of great beer bars and quality local spots to hit in Philly that you hardly even need to leave 1 or 2 neighborhoods. Logistically, driving southbound to a shore point on Memorial Day Weekend is going to be a chore at best, plus Rehoboth will be a zoo.

Skip DFH. It's fine if you're down there for another reason, but it's not a great destination, especially if you have to drive all the way from Philly. It will take 3 hours to get down there, maybe longer with memorial day traffic. Instead, do the center city bar tour - Nodding Head, Good Dog, Monk's, Misconduct, Strangelove's - and then take a trip outside the city and do Tired Hands.

Plenty of great places to hit in the city.
If they still offer the Independance Pass, you can hit Tired Hands, Teresa's, TJ's, Flying Pig and, depending on the schedule, Station Taproom along the Paoli/Thordale line. Just remember that Tired Hands is closed on Monday.
