    Well Chicago Craft Beer Week started off with a bang. Firestone 16, Unfiltered 100% Barrel-fermented DBA, and Sucaba all on tap, followed by Pipeworks Marilime Law (Ninja) as a nightcap.

    My work weekend draws to an end as I pop open a bottle of Funkwerks Tropic King. First time to have this, and it is delicious. It has a beautiful head and flavors that burst in my mouth.

    Well...one of 3 things will happen here...

    1. I will discover that this is a misprint.
    2. I will discover that this beer ages quite well.
    3. This beer will suck!

    Worst case, I will help it go down with some French potato chips!

    SBW#5, a Pacific N.W. Barleywine. Kind of a cross between an American barleywine and a DIPA. Cheers!

    The correct answer to this is either 1 or 2...this was a good beer....not solid by any means, but a good beer. I need to figure out if this was mis labeled or if it did indeed hold up.

    Doom was pretty good although I prefer the original pedigree of this beer in its natural state.
