Missing wax BA DL...

    Got this 2012 Bourbon BA DL from FFF this way... Didn't notice until I got home. Thinking about trying to move this bottle, wondering if this cosmetic defect is going to take a hit on trade value. What say you guys?

    Hmm, that's pretty worrisome, yeah. You may only be able to land 7 sub-300 bottle count wales instead of 8. :slight_frown:

    I guess that's what I'm worried about. Will people perceive this as some sort of risk or is it cosmetic only? And even if cosmetic, will this be de-valued because it won't look as pretty in the cellar? I'm not crazy like that, but I know a lot of you cats are lol.

    Is there still unbroken wax sealing or at least partially sealing the cap? Theoretically I could see a person being worried that the bottle had been drank and then re-filled/sealed (note: I am not in any way, shape, or form claiming you did this, just that there's no way to verify the "history" of the bottle) if the wax seal around the lid was completely broken.

    Examine the top pic closely, you can see that the bottle is still clearly sealed and partially covering the cap.

    I feel for ya, man. Had an '85 Topps McGwire rookie that was off center. I believe Beckett said it reduced the value 20% or so. Couldn't even get that, so I just ate the thing anyway.

    I'm curious, how could the bottle be turned upside down and dipped in wax and have the neck be covered in wax but not the cap? That's very confusing.

    You can see it was broken off somehow.

    Yeah wondering if people would take that as a serious possibility.

    lol yeah and if that's the case I will just drink it myself.

    I suppose I could just go ahead and post a FT with the pic included. Was hoping to land nice stuff for it, I dunno tho with this defect.
