Trellis up. Right now the eyebolts are only about 10' high but this setup allows me to move them up higher without damaging the plants during the move. Established plants can grow 20' or higher, but I don't think these first-year plants will grow that high... i know, famous last words.

I can add up to another 6' if necessary... I'm sure as hell not doing that without someone holding the ladder though, haha.

I've planted my hops at work, looks like they have a lot of potential. This would be the third year in a row that I have grown Cascades. The past couple of years have been very successful:

Then this is the set up I have now at work. Trying to get these bad boys to grow up onto our sign. Then try to get one of the local breweries to dry hop a cask with "Cotton-hops"!

I am growing some here in Austin. Nugget sprouted up really fast and died off in about 2 weeks. Cascade took forever to sprout up, and now it is growing super fast and is very healthy. Guess cascade hops love Texas.

In DFW my Colombus is doing well, but the Cascade looks a little stunted and is showing some browning on the tips of a few leaves. I think this might be due to the heavy rainfall that we've had lately (today probably made the situation worse). I wouldn't say the cascade is in danger, it just isn't growing as well as the Colombus.

Holy crap, they are starting to take off now. Lots of smaller bines at the base, makes them look pretty bushy:

Hops are taking off pretty quickly, growing 4-6 inches a day. Here's where there at now!

Those looks nice, but I'll be surprised if the steel I-beams sitting in the hot Texas sun don't burn the crap out of the plants where they come into contact.

In one month they have grown about 6 feet, so about 1.5 ft per wk, vertical growth.
