    Yea man, it makes a huge difference. I first tackled temp control in my small apartment last spring with a Chest freezer and a ranco thermostat. #1 thing that improved my beers after that(made some great Belgians that summer). Then in the late summer of 2012 I got my water tested by Ward labs and used the EZ water excel file and my beer quality went through the roof after that. Searching out beer style water profiles online and nailing them is awesome. Totally worth it. Make sure to get a decent scale that at least measures to .1 grams like I did for mineral salt additions(mostly gypsum and CaCl). I experiment a fuck ton too, but putting it in motion with the right water will just nail it.

    Great Lakes Lake Erie monster. Very good. reminds me more of a hoppy barleywine than a DIPA. Nice surprise!

    The last of the Red is for a toast to Sam_Frank's Lady. I still miss my pooch BillBob who moved on 7 years ago (the same day as the pic below); no offense to our current dog. I hope BillBob and Lady hook up somewhere nice...
