A couple session-able beers, sure....but getting tanked on the course is just dumb. Most likely you were operating a vehicle too which is DUI.

Meh, I pay for the golf...I can drink at my house anytime.

SNPA if they have it; if not Shiner Bock ... because it's usually the only OK beer in cans you can get at most golf courses.

I don't drink much on the course. Generally just a beer at the turn if I make a dogs' breakfast out of the front nine. But I take golf as seriously as I take my beer now, so they don't mix well for me.

That's what the 19th hole is for. Play golf then drink.

i used to caddy at a club in England when i was in my teens.
when a foursome is drinking on the course it is the longest_effing_day_ever.

save it for the 19th hole. really, you are pissing off the rest of the club. you don't mean to, but four or five beers is slowing you down and people know it.

7+ beers over one round? Seems a bit excessive. I'm all about 7+ beers, but not in conjunction with other things that should be enjoyable without beer.

I would be too buzzed to care about golf if I drank that many good craft beers.

I have a fine line when playing sports while drinking. I am usually good for 1-4 beers per round. More than that, or even that much is overkill. That is what the 19th hole is for, seriously. I usually grab something from OB, Dale's is nice, and their new stovepipes (19.2oz) work fairly well for golfing, have one on the first nine, and one on the back nine.

Beer usually makes golf enjoyable, especially when you suck at golf. I'm playing a few rounds with my old man next week, plan to pick up a few sixers of All Day IPA.

Many golf clubs that I play have signs posted that it is a violation of state law to consume alcoholic beverages on premises that are not purchased from the golf course. (Validity of that sign?) If a beverage cart is available there is typically at least a Sam Adams, Killians, etc. that I'm satisfied with drinking (or I'll get a beer from the clubhouse bar at the turn), but usually no more than one beer per 9 holes.

You sir, need a support group. Seven 6%abv beers in one round? I hope you live on the course or had a DD.

Golf is a "game" not a "sport" drink as much as you want. :stuck_out_tongue:

Plus one here. I don't take golf too seriously and I have a very high handicap. But I like the exercise and I do prefer to walk and carry my clubs. The beer can wait until post-round.

Yep, too competitive to drink much when I'm playing.

I only start drinking once my round goes to shit. If I'm on pace for 90 or worse at the turn, I'll usually grab a canned Fat Tire at the snack shop. I take golf [too?] seriously, so I'm not about to pre-handicap myself by boozing on the course until it gets past the point of no return.

I played in a scramble yesterday as well down in Florida for football. I don't know if its because we had our spring game Friday night and I got 5 hours of sleep or the heat, but I brought a Ton of beer out there..primarily geanny cream ale and some miller
Lite(don't judge lol) but I only drank about 4 beers in 5 hours of golfing. The heat was just too
Much to be pounding beers. 5 hrs in 90
Degree weather does not bode too well with chugging beers without a lot of water.

Ehh. I don't really drink much when I play. My rounds are far and few between these days, but I try to get in around 4-7 rounds a month still.

I might have a mama's pils, or dale pale ale or something, no more than 2-3 in a round if any. I just don't find slamming beers at the club the ideal way to play, but probably because I'm not some chopper on the course like most of the people out there.

If I shot in the high 80' or 90's or more, I'd drink more because I didn't care, but I'm a low single digit, and take my game a bit more serious, and then drink in the clubhouse, grab one on the 17th( I live off the 17th green ), and have a few after the round, while we sit around after the round.

It's easy to to not drink when they have shit for selection on the course, and inside the clubhouse isn't a ton better, with 2 crafts on tap for 5 taps.

Sunday golf is the only drinking day for me and to be honest most of my friends that I golf with usually drink BMC stuff so I typically go for the Miller Lite. A rarity for me but sometimes enjoying the round is better that caring about the beer you are drinking. However, Dally's makes this margarita in a pouch that is pretty good. And by good I mean that you can drink it and re-seal it so that you don't spill it in the cart.
