I've seen some crazy cherry rye offers lately. Is it really worth as much as 2 dark lords? Is this turning into the next bcvs? I drank 3 of them at a bar by me last monday and they had many more.
I've found Cherry Rye easier to land now than when it first came out. I've gone thru about 6 of them so far and never traded anything too crazy. Basic CCB BA stuff. Shouldn't be too hard for you to land.
I dont have any. I had one from my local shop but I drank it 2 months ago. I just thought it was crazy with all the hype on here, and getting all i could drink for $25 at a local bar. Waking up the next morning ...... I'd rather never taste that again in my lifetime.
it won't turn into the next bcbvs because it's not even in the same taste stratosphere as bcbvs ever was, fresh or aged. even the worst bcbs variant is pretty phenomenal beer on its own, but i rank cherry absolutely the lowest or second lowest. edit: i say this having neither bottle currently.
Does anybody know the bottle counts on the different variants by chance? I remember Cherry being really rare at the beginning, but now it's popping up and being offered in every trade I make when I post it in the ISO list!
As much as 2 Darklords?! I don't know about that much, but.... You should be detecting sarcasm right about now
It will never be Vanilla, because Vanilla has 2 years on Cherry, and thus Vanilla is always going to be harder to land, at least until Vanilla falls off in a couple of years. That said, yes, trading for a Cherry in 2015 will be close to trading for a Vanilla today. DL for Cherry strikes me as a pretty fair 1-for-1, so I doubt 2-for-1 is getting done very often there.
I've seen cherry rye go 1:1 with King Henry.....I've seen cherry rye traded for locals.....I've seen 2 cherry rye for a bourbon DL get done as well. All depends on what people are comfortable to give up.
This just sent me back to my internet poker days. From now on I will only discuss trade value in such a fashion. "I really don't think he'd jam with Bolt Cutter on the 3rd BM, do you?"
As long as he's not dominated by something like a KH or Sucaba I think it's a good move to balance his range and against a veteran trader he even gets them to lay it down a good amount of the time. Can't do it against 2012ers who only care about winning trades though.
