Seriously, if you guys aren't going to be there, they might as well cancel the whole thing.

In contrast to the "rush before all the tickets are gone" why not do a lottery?

Same reason they don't do a lottery for sporting events or concerts?

I have an extra SourFest ticket if anyone's interested. I had a buddy back out and am happy to help someone who wants to go and got shut out. I'd prefer a couple beers as a swap...heard that Violet is pretty tasty! I can meet you at the venue day of or before-hand and give you a paper ticket. I'm not posting in Beer Tickets as I'd prefer one of you solid locals get yours.

Looking for a ticket or two. I have Violet and Volunt to offer up as well as tons from CS and Cantillon or whatever you want.

Because it's first come first serve. Events are always this way. The only lottery I've ever heard of is for goods, not events.

That's not a reason, thought there was some rational behind it...

First come first served is a great way to do things.

But in this case, it's more about how fast you can hit Refresh on your browser, how fast your internet connection is, and how fast you are at typing all of your information in.

I know people last year who kept getting a blank page because the server couldn't handle all the ticket requests, and that doesn't really seem fair to me...

Hence my original statement it's no different than concerts and sporting events. All those on ticketmaster are the same way.... first to refresh. I've been shut out of many concerts and events the minute they go on sale. In a way it's kind of a lottery if you think about it.... random people getting tickets depending on when they refresh. I'm not super technical but I imagine it's not all about bandwidth and refresh but more about luck. Here's a tip though, sign up with all your information and login ahead of time, then it's just click to add and click to order. But I understand the frustration around it, I do.

Let's all hope they can expand the Sourfest a few hundred people when they move into their new brewery. There are more and more sour producers each day.

I thought the legal drinking age was 21?

Because all these crybabies bitching about beer tell me otherwise.

I have a fiberoptic cable connection, Icore9 desktop, and very fast fingers and i got shut out. With 700 requests in less than 5 seconds, its a gamble no matter what.

Sounds like it is a Lottery after all.

I don't want them to change a thing. I enjoyed watching the guys who scored tix last year and defended the system get shut out this year then call foul. I predict a never ending cycle of butt hurt. As a Silky Johnson fan, I welcome this.

I'm one man and realize I can't do it all.
