I was excited to fire this one up and hopefully it's not an oversight that some one else has already created one!

I've got a fun filled weekend. Create a yeast starter tonight, rack my IPA to secondary tomorrow and brew a little something for the wife, a blueberry blonde ale.

If the rain ever stops, I'll be throwing down 10 gallons of double decocted hefeweizen.

I'm going to brew my Bastonge Blonde, in honor of my family members who served and in one case wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.

    OG 1.045

95% Belgian Pale Ale Malt or Castle Pils (whatever I decide at the time)
    5% Aromatic

No sparge mash 150- long and low

28 IBU- Willamette to bitter and either Saaz or Hallertau to finish or both.

    WY3522 Ardennes

I'm also building a new cedar fence this weekend so I will be taking the first sips of a new IPA that is about carbed that uses a mix of Chinook, Cascade, Mosaic and Simcoe. It was heavy late and big dry hop, smells awesome. Then of course visiting the cemetary to pay respects to a few family members and friends who served our country and in some cases lost thier lives. We should not forget what the holiday is about.

After a long hiatus due to moving I will finally be brewing again this weekend. I will be doing a simple blonde ale and an IPA with Amarillo, Cascade, and Centennial.

Had planned to brew an imperial pils, but had to delay it for a few weeks. However, I will be doing some kegging and bottling, and tapping.

Brewing a Blonde Wheat IPA (Blonde Ale that I'm adding some wheat to and hopping like an IPA) this weekend with some 1098 yeast that I washed from a maple brown ale a few weeks ago. Going to ferment cool to get a clean profile and hopefully none of the English character. Making a 2L starter tonight to get the yeast all roused up again and brewing tomorrow night.

Taking a break from the low gravity brews and doing a strong ale. Curious to see what kind of efficiency we get on this one; we've been nailing target gravities with about 82% efficiency consistently, but that's been for <1.050 brews. This one we're targeting about 1.090 and assuming about 65%...if we don't hit it, we'll just keep boiling until we do!

Also trying the San Diego Super strain for the first time.

Double decoction is the only way to go for a hefe. Once I did it, I've never went back to step temperature mashing a hefe.

Wanted to brew Monday, but it's my younger daughter's 13th birthday, which trumps a brew day. Hope to get a pseudo-Kvass in later in the week.
