Pick a few of these up today. I had tasted Cream and Xtra pale before. Cream was good and worth getting another 6. XP needed some work not my taste. But today got Flanders Red for a trade and their Smoked Porter and Hazy Day. Excited about trying these. Hoping to find good canned beer for summer. Love drinking local. Anybody try their stuff yet? I heard they have only been around a year but could have sworn I have seen Flagship for longer than that.

The Pale Ale is good and so is the Wit.

I love their Flying Jenny Extra Pale, and if you get the chance head to Pour Judgment in Newport (or the brewery) and have their IPA. Real great stuff. Smoked Porter is fantastic, as is their Flanders Red. The red is just slightly sour, mostly tart, easy to drink. Hazy Day Wit is a very light and easy sipper too. I didn't care too much for their Flagship Cream Ale, or the Imperial Pils, and have yet to have Stargazer (still haven't bothered to buy it at the store).

What you want to do is head over to the brewery. Very informal tour, you get to buy a can shaped glass, and if its dead enough, the guy/gal behind the bar will hook you up with some good beers that'll be more than worth the $5 and the trek down to Westerly.

I will an make it down there this summer. Also probably give Extra another try too. They make an IPA? Love the 16oz cans with the vinyl sleeve label.

An employee at a "better" beer store pimped the Fying Jenny so I bought it a few wks ago - disappointing...for an easy drinking "extra pale" British style Berkshire Steel Rail runs rings around it IMO.

For me, couldn't disagree more. Love Flying Jenny ... Not a huge Steel Rail fan. I don't know of many (any) pale ales in cans better than Flying Jenny.

Their IPA is only at the brewery and on draft at Pour Judgment in Newport as their house beer - they contract brew it for them.

I would never say that Jenny "needs work" I think its among the best Pales ive had in a can, their tour is fun and informative, I have always left there with enough beers to make it worth the 5$ for the glass.

On the way to store now to get some FJ. I thought I had tasted before but with all the love I gotta try it again. I know for sure I had Flagship and it was very drinkable

Flying jenny is awesome. I might get skewered for this but I compared its Hop profile to Bell's Two Hearted. It has that candied swwet hop element to it. It is full bodied for the abv too. Definitely in under talked about beer. on tap it's amazing it's also awesome out of the can.

I'm definitely a fan of the Flying Jenny. I've had it on draft a few times and also in cans. It's going to be in my rotation for easy-drinking summer beers.

My only complaint about Flying Jenny is the sediment in the cans. Hard to see it and it doesn't make the beer taste better.

Just stopped by today. Not at the brewery :slight_frown: But the person pouring said that they also have it at Speakeasy in Newport in addition to PJ's.

They just started distributing in Mass, had it on draft first...excellent. Went out and bought a 6pk at about $9 and change. Really enjoyed it.
