Good evening fellow BA's. I was able to retrieve a couple extra Parabolas when they hit my market a couple weeks ago. I want to start by clarifying that I'm not that guy who buys multiple bottles to drink them all himself. Instead, I'm that guy who buys multiple bottles to benefit himself via trade :stuck_out_tongue:. I figured I'd just send some out to the less fortunate people who didnt get them distributed to their area.

Anyway, I was wondering what a good 1:1 deal would be involving my parabola(s). AKA what's a delicious bomber that's on level with parabola that I should try and seek out?

    Thanks all and cheers!

Welcome to trading. Parabola should trade dollar value with available beers from other states. You should add some easier to get beers to your Wants list and use SeekABrew to see who doesn't get Parabola. Have fun trading.

Drink it all. It's better than just about anything you'd get in return. In fact, I'll trade you my Parabolas for your Parabolas and we'll both be happy.

There isn't anything that is worth trading away parabola for the $4$, which is about all you're going to really get because of the whole, you know, California devalued beer worth.

Take for example Darklord. You'll probably have to give up 2 Parabola for one and you're better off drinking the Parabola all by yourself instead of wasting shipping.

This is slightly off-subject, but was anyone able to buy large amounts of Parabola 2013 at one time in their local store, as opposed to the one per customer limit in most retail outlets in my state?

There was a lot of inconsistency with parabola limits around here. One TW told me one bottle limit the first day I showed up. Next day I showed up during non peak hours and they sold me three. Local bevmo had a 2 bottle limit the first day, then dropped to a one bottle limit when they were down to a case and a half.

Nope. Was able to order 8x of the 2012 from Bevmo last year, but this year I got completely shut out and had to trade '12 Parabola for '13 Parabola. Good times.

I traded a bottle of Founders Doom for a bottle of Parabola straight up, both sides were happy.

Parabola is a unique situation, over 3000 cases made but bottle limits everywhere and hard to find. It only trades $4$, which is strange because very few beers are as good as parabola, especially $4$. Not many sub $15 bottles are in the same class as parabola.

I could have bought all the Parabola on the shelf (several bottles minimum) at just about any store in Portland. I haven't seen bottle limits on it (or any other FW reserve beer) in years.

Really? All the anniversary beers and parabola have had limits everywhere I go, heck even double jack had bottle limits when it was first released.

Some stores here had limits (1-2 bottles, depending on how much they got) but grocery stores that got it had no limits, so I could easily have bought a case if I wanted. Got 4, and thats plenty for me. This is also our first year of getting FW distribution, so some of those places might change their policies in the future.

Typically the Whole Foods I went to had no limits. Just had to ask for it from the back.

No limits anywhere here. Heck, last time I was at Whole Foods they still had a bunch on the shelf.

That's awesome, being from Michigan we don't see any of it, and trying to get some in Chicago is a laughable matter, I stood in a line for a release of it, and was number 13 for a single case... Sad times for all (mostly me though).

The local in the little town down the road (about 8 miles) from me had it behind the counter at first and I was allowed to buy one bottle. A week later they got one or two cases more and it was on the shelf. Might still be on the shelf for all I know. Places closer to Chicago (I'm about 45 miles out) it was definitely more cutthroat with limits until it sold out within an hour or so.

EDIT: I could probably buy a lot more right now if I didn't have to allot funds towards NG's Anniversary Ale and Berliner Weiss. Sucks to have such problems, yeah?

Picked up 6 bottles at my local shop with no problem. He had 5 cases and only 1 case on hold. Could've bought the other 4 cases if I wanted to.

I bought 12 bottles of Parabola, 5 of which were only $7.99 because a local grocery store mis-labeled them!

I've sorted two trades for these so far:

1 Parabola for 1 GI BCBCS.

    2 Parabola + 2 Pliny for 8 Heady Toppers
