Parabola

Now I feel bad. As a newbie to trading, I'm still learning the ropes regarding the relative worth of such beers. I wasn't trying to fleece either party. Hopefully these will be both become regular trading partners so I can make up for it in future.

 

No need to make it up to either of them. They clearly both held Parabola in high regard and felt your offers were fair. Win-win.

 

I certainly don't think you won the HT trade. You went well over $4$ with great beer.

 

I don't think he "won" this trade... If anyone wants to do this trade, BM me. Just picked up some Heady this weekend and missed Parabola when it came through town.

Yeah, but as I got Parabolas @ $8 each and Pliny is $5 = $26. HT is $3 a can =$24: pretty fair from my end.

 

Sure but $8 for Parabola was a mistake, retail was double that.

 

2 Parabola + 2 Pliny = ~$40
8 Heady Toppers = ~$26

All I can say is that you guys have an interesting concept of "winning".

 

Sure, but for $4$ trading, I can only go by what I paid for them. Saying that, when you factor in the full price I paid for the other Parabolas, they average out at $12 each.
As with all trades, it's the inherent worth you place on a beer you're after that makes a trade acceptable or not.

 

You were fair. In fact more than fair. You could have easily turned this mistake into something that was in your advantage but you didn't. I would happily trade with you any time.

Based on the interest/replies when I offered it up, 1:1 for Event Horizon is pretty desirable for Parabola owners. $.02

 

Sad as this forum is, my pleasure. Parabola is among my favorite beers and I know other people who would likely do that trade. When I posted it I got ~12 responses quickly, so if you're at all interested in something like Event Horizon or Lindley Park, I think you could get this done fairly easily. I'd do it again if I had any more EH.

 

In my travels I've found Parabola can be kind of weird in that it seems to vanish quickly in a lot of Cali locations (or has bottle limits, etc), yet sits on shelves in quantity in the PNW. Yesterday I bought 5 bottles of 2012 at $15 each. Tons of 2013 next to those but I already got a case of that at FW.

Yea I know. Dang Indiana doesnt get Parabola at all that I know of or have ever seem. I asked at a few places and they were all like "parabola like the math thing?" oh boy oh boy
