I have seen a few recent appreciation threads and I have to add Founders Imperial Stout to that list. I just started trading this year and smchenry77 sent me 4 FIS, agreed only on two.

This is my first FIS and Damn! This beer is tasty and smooth. Such complex and bold flavors, while still be incredibly drinkable.

It's gonna be hard to tuck any away for winter.....well maybe one.

Bought two four packs back in January and planned on tucking a couple away for next fall and winter. Never happened, finished my last one a couple weeks back. Great stuff for sure.

Save at least 1 bottle for a year. Gets even better, imo

I never get too upset if I can't get hold of the latest gotta-have stout because I'm lucky enough to have Founders Imperial Stout all over the place for a few months every year. It's magnificent.

Easily one of the best non barrel aged stouts. None of my local spots sold any 4-packs of the latest release (the hell man?), but thankfully a kind local BA hooked it up with 2 4pks (one of the 2013, one of the 2012 release). Really can't decide on fresh vs. aged at all for this one, absolutely stellar either way.

Breakfast stout is top notch fo sho, and would gladly drink that on the regs. However, the imperial stout knocked my shoes and socks off, while FBS just knocked my shoes off.

Would founders distribute to Cali already!!!

This beer is why I don't bother trading for non BA stouts. I have yet to have a stout that can match this beer.

best review I've gotten as a homebrewer was "Has amazing Flavor and Mouthfeel very similar to Founders Imperial Stout" - I'm sure it was an exaggeration, but at that point I saw no further need to tweak things.

FIS is my favorite stout period. I bought three four packs and had intended to buy at least a couple more. Unfortunately it sold out in my area quicker than what I had expected. It seemed like it lasted a while last year so I was in no hurry. I thought my wife drank my last one, but the other day I found one hiding in the corner of my beer fridge. Maybe I'll share it with her.

Man, no 4 packs of FIS? It's still sitting on shelves here in Columbus!

Agreed. This was the first year I had this beer and it is tremendous!! Looking forward to seeing how it changes after a year or so, though it is awesome fresh.

It is great, and it ages well too. I have a 2011 vintage that I tucked away for a while now, might bust it out this upcoming winter!
