I have been trading beer for a little over a year and I have landed some pretty big [less than white whale] bottles. So, I feel I have a pretty good handle on what it takes to pull certain bottles. However, I have turned up empty handed from multiple offers lately for Murda'd Out Stout. If I could land a RARE for a BT, WC, and CBS, why would a combo of CR, WC, and a BCBS variant (for instance) not attract any attention for a trade for Murda'd Out Stout?? Thoughts?

Its Rare, 50$, low bottle count, was brewery only and its FFFs that about sums it up IMO. But have faith, i traded one for a CR and BT so it can be done just need to find the right pair of eyes to see it. Good luck OP.

The problem w/ Murda'd out is also that it's really good.

I also don't see anything wrong with your offer. Of the two bottles I bought, I did trade one for a similar offer at time of release.

I do wonder how much of it was moved back then and how many have little interest in moving the bottle they kept since it's A) Excellent and B) a true one-off.

But, your post raises an excellent question of what a Murda'd Out owner would want...
I know I wouldn't trade my last one for a Rare.

Bruery = not wælz. FFF BA = wãłēz. Hope that helps...

Oh and according to anybody who knows anything about trading knows CBS has reportedly fallen out of orbit. So you may need to step it up with a vintage BCBCS or Peche Mortel...

I have one bottle that I bought with a couple friends so not planning on trading it. I wish we would have bought more bottles since there were 3 of us but at the time there were only 2 reviews, baller stout didn't rate that well, and it cost $50. It sat around for a while so I think that is why people trying to trade for it think it should be pretty easy to land. I wouldn't trade mine for a Rare. Like mentioned above, Murda'd is a true one-off so this will be my only option to try it. GI just had a couple events a couple weeks ago with Rare on tap if I really wanted to try that.

Funny how beers get so much tastier once they stop becoming readily available.

OP, this one was at FFF for the better part of a month. Yes it was pub-only, but people were able to get as many as their hearts desired. I bought 4 over that period of time. Drank two of em, traded one for an Alpha Kong (yet another generous BA) to throw in a box as a surprise, and the other was a modified gopickitupforme for an extremely generous BA.

I havent had it since January, but can attest that it was pretty damn good. That said, I wouldn't sell the farm for a bottle.

It is not an easy thing to let 3 big beers like CR go to trade for a single bottle, but the decision to do so is based on the regularly discussed topic of beer value. I particularly want to get ahold of a Murda'd Out bottle so I can try it next to the Baller that I finally managed to get. Also, the way I see it, one-off bottles will only gain value with age so my best bet may be to work to get it now instead of waiting.

I agree with this. Most people won't agree, but I had both within a week of each other about two months ago, and I enjoyed Murda'd more.

As much as I would like to get ahold of another RARE, I didn't think it was that much better than the 2008 BCBS that I drank next to it.

I expect that Murda and Baller will have much more complexity than RARE and BCBS.

I was stupid and didn't go to FFF to buy it because of the price tag. The tasting group threw in to split one, and once I tried it I traded for 2... Drank one with my bro when his daughter was born.

1st- traded a BA Kopi Speedway and Event Horizon
2nd- traded Bramble Rye and 1414

I think this is worth $50, and wish I had more than 1 left....

Baller is getting better, but this beer isn't BA Baller. They barrel aged the components and then blended....

Yeah I've heard murda is good and a different blend than baller. Just commenting on baller itself.

I thought Baller was pretty mediocre but Murda'd was great.

After buying one for my tasting group with Moser, I too regretted not picking one up for myself based on then price tag, especially with how long they were available. I did end up trading for one but I wish I had more. So good.

I traded a BCBVS + KBS ip at DLD this year.

It's a sickness that many of us have, except I trade to drink and/or age, not collect.
