It's pretty random. Periodically in warmer months, less frequently in colder months.

So is it best to put out trade requests for it when you know a release has recently occurred?

Haha, sorry. I guess I should have searched a little harder than a cursory glance of the first page.

I hope you people realize that the more you discuss where and when to get beers like Lawson's, the bigger the hype gets, and in the end the less likely you will be able to get some due to large number of people who show up. The fishing community learned this lesson several years ago when someone would post when and where he caught fish, only to find the the next day dozens of fishermen had descended on his spot. Let these people find it on their own.

It's on tap in Vt frequently, so we drink all we want. Bottles seem to travel more.

The correct answer to the thread title is not often enough.

Every time a double rainbow occurs a limited release of double sunshine becomes available

Lawson said he was going to be making it every few weeks this year. It's due.

Modern, I don't think so. Just relaying a lesson I learned years ago. There are those people who will put in the time and effort, and those who don't.

You're new here, but this discussion/argument has been had on this site about a billion times. You're not wrong, but you also can't stop the inertia of craft beer growth. The cat has already been out of the bag on Lawson's for a while anyway, so it's not like we're discussing some great secret. Throwing a few more people into an already very long release line won't make much of a difference.

Generally speaking we try to be pretty helpful around here, even though it comes at our own expense sometimes. I've certainly cost myself a few beers over the years, but I've also gained access to lord knows how many others thanks to everybody else sharing info.

Yes, I am new here. I am more of a noob BA than a modern BA. My wife calls me an old grump. I have been drinking good beer longer than most here. I only recently registered when I felt the need to post. I don't closely follow forums like this so I am not aware what others have posted in the past. If this has been discussed a billion times as you say, then many others out there feel the same way. I am not trying to stop the inertia and I know that beers like Lawson's are legendary. I am also more than happy to share information about beer, where to get it, and so forth. I too have learned a lot from this web site and discovered new beers.

It's one thing to cost yourself access to a limited beer when the distribution is nearby, but when there is extensive travel and planing involved its different. I would tell my close friends when I am driving up, or when I plan to get in line, but not the world. Thats the type of information sharing I was referring to. I have had the experience more than once, as I am sure you have, of driving several hours only to find the line was already longer than the amount of beer available. It did not used to be this way. With the popularity of craft beer increasing and the Internet making it easier to find, access to limited release beers will get more difficult. I only hope that does not discourage others.
