Never opt against Double Jack. Never. I would drink bomber upon bomber of that if it weren't $9. Even still, I won't really complain about it, since it's my favorite IPA. Definitely give it a shot if it comes up again.

In a pinch, I would much rather use a bottle of Endeavor as a weapon. But that's just my opinion.

I would use Creme Brulee, the beer not the bottle, as my weapon. I would pour it all over you .Your feet would be stuck to the ground and you would be moving your arms in slow motion in a web of sticky, gooey, sugar induced beer.

Tried Founder's Pale Ale, IPA, All Day IPA, Double trouble, Backwoods+Dirty Bastard, FBS, and Cerise.
Of those, I'll only be buying FBS and the Pale Ale again. I prefer St. Arnold's IPA line up to that of Founder's, and overall they probably put out more beers that I would buy regularly. However there is no substitute for Breakfast Stout.

What were the bottling dates? Comparing 1+ month-old Double Trouble to 2 week old Endeavour isn't really reasonable if that's the case here...

I don't buy regular lineups from either one. Endeavor is great, Double Trouble wasn't bad. I love Pumpkinator but I wish Saint Arnold's stouts were thicker across the board. I remember having FBS at a tasting and wasn't really impressed, but I finally had a 12 oz of KBS and it was amazing.

There's an opinion from someone outside of TX! Finally...
Texans are the worst homers out there.. About as bad as Oakland Raiders fans when it comes to beer. Every single person even daring to place St. Arnold on the same level as Founders is delusional.

Pretty sure most people have disagreed with me on this one and said St A is crap and Founders is da bomb. I guess I don't get to have an opinion without being a homer. And this wasn't brewery vs brewery, it was two of the beers I tried.

I don't think you read the thread very clearly. No one was putting the brewery on the same level as Founders. They were however saying that certain SA beers were better than certain Founders beers, in their opinion. It is possible for people to prefer a beer from SA over a beer from Founders without being a homer. Different strokes for different folks.

Since I've lived here one of the the craziest things to me is how much blind faith Texans have for anything Texan. Doesn't matter what it is, where it's at, how much it costs, what it looks/tastes like. As long as it's from Texas, it's better than yours.

Do people actually travel on this board? Homerism is rampant everywhere. Anybody ever here of a state called Louisiana? Talk about homers. Hell they are proud that their state is the most corrupt and politically backwards outside of Illinois.

Back on topic, people also need to read what people actually wrote here. Some people like Saint Arnold, some people don't. I like Saint Arnold, and think they are a very good brewery with some good beers. Founders is easily a top 5 brewery in the country. How many different times do people have to say that in this thread?

I wonder if I can like any Texas beers without being a homer???

If the beer is solid, then be a homer. Texas has a lot of meh beers but we also have some wonderful ones. As long as you are honest in your opinion don't worry about how people view it.

This x1000. And don't get me wrong. I have found some good beer in Texas, but it rarely is the same as what Texans are hyping up. (Buried Hatchet probably being the worst example of a not even mediocre beer being hyped to hell. I've had it now in several formats and iterations and the beer is pure garbage. Maybe there was a magical couple batches put out when it was first produced, but the liquid hitting the market now isn't it.)

EDIT: And for the record, I like SA and buy select beers from them. If they would start canning I would buy more.
