I've been on a truly unstoppable sour kick recently. My yen is strong as ever and as it's getting warmer I'm going farther and farther out of my way and above my budget for that mouth-watering barnyard pucker.

Still, I feel like there aren't enough sours out there. I'm ready to move past my mainstays and bulk up my must-try list, so let me know what you love and what you need to try. All time favorite: Consecration by Russian River. A good mainstay is Boon Geuze Marriage Parfait. Let's hear 'em.

Consecration. Finally had one the other day from a friend who went out west and brought me back a bottle of that and PTE.

I have a feeling Tilquin won't stay "quiet" for too long. Once people realize it's a world class gueuze that's reasonably priced and is on shelves, it's all over. I'll stop talking about it now.

    In no particular order

    Temptation
    Sanctification
    Sang Noir
    Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge
    Rodenbach Grand Cru
    Oude Gueuze Tilquin à L'Ancienne

Fou Foune and Beat are tops. Rodenbach Grand Cru is the best year-round, easily available sour, with Cuvee des Jacobins not far behind.

I have a hard time saying any sour isn't my favorite, unless it is some backsweetened mess (e.g. duchess and monks cafe).

Have you given all your money and time in search of Cantillons yet? If not then first go do that, come back destitute in a year or so and tell us that it was awesome and worth every penny.

And yeah Rodenbach Grand Cru for the price/taste ratio win.

This question should be, if you havent had Armand Lente, what is your favorite sour.

Tilquin's great but @ $24 for a 750 it's not exactly a steal. Price is the only reason I don't stock up on it.

You're not a fan of Duchesse? As far as a good, approachable Flanders red that isn't too expensive, I'd go with that or Rodenbach Grand Cru any day. Not a fan of Monk's Cafe, though, at least in the bottle.

I can get it for about $21ish here. I never said it was a steal but for how good it is and how easy it is to get...
