Given there is already a thread on here started by someone who was looking to avoid the piney IPAs, this may seem a little redundant. But I'm actually looking for some recommendations of good piney IPAs. I don't mind the grapefruit and citrus notes of many IPAs - I love Little Sumpin, Sumpin, Ale, for example - but I miss some of the piney IPAs. My beer store tends to prefer the citrusy ones. Anybody recommend some good piney IPAs? I'm in the northeast (NJ), so I need ones that are available regionally and locally.

Inversion IPA. Piney dank bitterness all day. Readily available to boot.

I'd say Sierra Torpedo is pretty piney and definitely widely available. I'm not sure if Weyerbacher Double Simcoe is available in NJ, but I'm guessing it is, and that one is real good as well. Typically anything with a lot of simcoe should give you that piney flavor and aroma.

This may be no good to you if you can get O'so Brewing Co beers around you. But O'so makes some really good piney IPAs. Its from Wisconsin so it makes good sense. If you get a chance try Hop Whoopin and Lupulin Maximus Imperial IPA. This is the note from BA on Lupulin: "This brew is 9% and may contain a hop cone in every bottle (2009 & 2010 vintages) ! We want to make sure to repeat this reminder that we put a hop cone in the bottle. Always pour into a glass to release the essence from the bottle."

Thanks. No, I have never seen beers by that brewery in NJ. I have had Hoptimum (by Sierra Nevada). They claim to whole cone hop the beer.

The first thing comes to my mind is Sierra Nevada Hoptimum. Hard to find more "piney" IPA than this one.

I actually love Hoptimum. They just started carrying it at my beer store. If I'm not mistaken though, I believe it is a seasonal. Did you know it has 100+ IBUs. Great beer.

Deschutes. It is a year round always fresh on the shelves here. It is a regular in my rotation and pretty good on tap as well.

Will have to look for it then. The only thing I can recall having from Weyerbacher was their pumpkin ale, which I thought was poor for the style.

I would say Inversion, Surly Resin, Torpedo, definitely Hoptimum, and Troegs Hop Nugget are the ones that come to mind immediately. Unfortunately since moving to AZ I can no longer find Surly Resin. It was one of my regular favorites.

Stew Leonards on route 3 had it and probably still does.
There is a place in Totowa across from the Home Depot (can't remember the name)
    That should have it
