Welcome, dug your review, laughed at the American Beauty/American Reality line, but all in all got a feel for this beer I will not get to try, sadly, since I stopped trading. Really made me thirsty for it, though, and that is what trying a new beer on Sunday is all about. Cheers!

Nice! That showed up here in far-a$$ Upstate NY, too! I saw it last night, but decided against it, as I didn't wanna drink this stuff before I went out. I regret it now, concerned it might be sold out. Should've just sucked it up and bought it. Will head there tomorrow AM and hope it's still there.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

    New Am. Pale Lager Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's,

Guess I was hoping for something that more closely resembles summer than we we've had for the past several weeks. Today is in the lower 60's with a couple shots of sun, but even more frequent shots of rain. Oh well.
Yesterday was partially spent judging saisons in a homebrew contest between two different homebrew clubs. Not a totally sucky way to spend some time.
Today going with a midwest regional brewery that pretty steadily impresses with bigger beers, but is also improving with everyday beers. This one would fit the bill for those who enjoy a classic Am. style lager.

    Best to all this week.

This one has been highly anticipated. A friend drove down to the Blossom Center in Ohio last week for a concert and Thirsty Dog brewery happens to be only fifteen minutes away! I swear, my friends and family can't leave the state, let alone the county without fetching beer for me. But hey, that's what friends are for and I make it worth their time. So I've been saving this for NBS...

    >>>>>> New American IPA Sunday <<<<<<

Burnside IPA from Burnside brewing, Portland OR of course. I've had this one in the DBF for a couple of months, so its time is now.

A decent IPA, with a lot of body. I would have this again, and I'd love to try it cask conditioned.

A grand weekend here in the Columbia Basin. Yesterday was the Combine Demolition Derby in Lind, WA. Google it. Yes it's guys crashing into each other on huge grain harvesting machines. I have lived here 23 years and this was my first time. I'd do it again. It would be better with better beer in the beer garden.

Fantastic weather too, temps in the high 70's to low 80's and sunny skies all weekend long.

    Happy Trails!

School's out for summer! (Insert song by Michigan's own Alice Cooper) Another great weekend in West MI. Blue skies and temps hovering around 80 all afternoon have given way to more clouds, a gentle breeze and light drizzle.

Took in the goodness that is Festival of the Arts downtown with the family this morning. Hit the pool before the clouds rolled in. Took a break with another tasty brew before firing up the grill tonight. Man, I love summer!!!

A gorgeous day here in Southern, CT to cap an awesome weekend after the rain Friday. Tomorrow is our daughter's first birthday, so this weekend was the party and today was the cleanup/recovery.

To cap the great weekend, I am enjoying this Lagunitas brew:

    Happy Groovy New Beer Sunday!
Ahoy Hep Cats and Kittens, man, I haven't made this scene in quite some time, dig!?! Believe it or don't, this one isn't even for a CAN, but instead a limited release that I wanted to turn all of you groovy people onto, man. It isn't my bag to Bogart, man, and this:
was just too good to keep a secret. Everything from the label art to the beer itself spoke to me, man. Hey, I don't know when I'm going to chase the white rabbit back down this particular hole again, but stay cool in the meantime, babies!

I started a new gig this week, not sure how it's going to work out,

Best wishes on the new gig. In my experience steady income and craft beer seem to be linked in some fashion.

    NEW DOUBLE/IMPERIAL IPA

    Greetings, NBSers,

Damn glad to be with y'all today! Haven't been here much lately due to having spent several weekends out of town helping the parentals with some landscaping and general manual labor tasks while my old man recovers from having his knee replaced, and was violently (but mercifully briefly) ill with some sort of stomach bug last weekend.

Today has been great, weather-wise, with sunny skies and mid-70s temperature, which is my personal favorite. Thursday I got to watch a friend play a concert at Arbor Crest Winery, a venue with a ridiculously spctacular view of the Spokane Valley with similar weather as today and got to drink some tasty wines for free courtesy of a friend who knows the owners.

But today is about beer, particularly Anderson Valley's Heelch O'Hops:
    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/193/86256/?ba=woemad
This was an extremely well balanced DIPA. Not only featuring tasty hop flavor but with just the right malt body so that things weren't too over the top, unlike some booze-bomb versions of the style. In fact, it almost seemed like a good candidate for a session IPA, but for the 8.7% abv.

Super creamy and chocolately-rich. Good stuff.

Saw these guys in NYC on their City of Evil tour...

A7X gives a really sharp live show (but this vid's basically over by 5:45).

    Cheers, all!

    ANOTHER NEW IMPERIAL IPA SUNDAY

Typical summer day in north Florida. Hot and humid, with afternoon showers. Not my preferred weather for a high-gravity beer, but what the hell. Had my first Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. Not my favorite; it was sort of unbalanced to me. Not a fan of the hop profile on this one.

First time trying this Italian bad boy
    [IMG]
I would like to thank my favorite Italian Metalhead pizza aficionado Giovanni for the recommendation.

This stout has hints of chocolate and coffee.
It is chewy (in a good way)
There is a hot pepper finish that lingers on the tongue like you get from good thai food.
Interesting stout if you get a chance to try it.
