I have been REALLY into Founders lately. Their All day IPA and their Breakfast Stout are my go to beers. I haven't found anything yet that will stack up, and I can drink a few of.

Love Stouts, IPA (as long as they aren't dry!), Hefeweizen, Stout, Abbey brews, and Brown Ales.

    Favorite beers are:
    • Founders Breakfast
    • Founders All Day IPA
    • Anderson Valley Winter Solstice
    • Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale
    • Harpoon UFO
    • Trappists Rochefort
    • Brooklyn Oktober and Winter
    • Guinness

Come on guys, what is something absolutely great, and can have a few at a cookout and not be passed out in passengers seat on ride home like an Imperial would do?!? The imperials are great, but 1 bottle and I am half in the bag! I feel bad if I ;leave one sitting around and forget about it while cooking, talking, playing volleyball/horse shoes, etc

Would love to try some new beers, breweries, and styles!

I love Drakes Alpha Session. 3.7%, hoppy session ale. They released it in four packs this year. I'd definitely trade for it if you're into trading.

Stone Levitation ale is another good one.

See the lager thread. But...if you like hoppy but refreshing for a cookout, you could do worse than Victory Prima Pils.

dominion hop mountain or oak barrel stout. Hop mountain is an intensely hopped pale ale with a nice sessionable body and oak barrel stout is super flavor packed stout with somewhere between 5-6% ABV. Full session red and black are also nice and full sail amber is probably one of my favorite beers of all time to party with

Definitely try the Little Sumpin Sumpin. And you didn't have Founder's Porter on your list, which is actually my favorite from that brewery that I've had so far.

    This is great, thanks everyone!

I 100% forgot about Sumpin Sumpin, that is a really great brew!

I haven't tried Founders Porter, but love everything I have tried. The others are all new to me as well.

The other challenge here is where to find all of these, bigger names are easy. I live in Haverhill, MA if anyone has suggestions?

Stone Smoked Porter. Awesome, cheap, and very drinkable. They sell it at my area $3.99 a bomber.

I was going to say that you need to be introduced to Great Lakes Brewing...but they don't distribute to Mass.

    1. Go to local beer store
    2. Find a beer you have never seen/tried/heard of before
    3. Buy it
    4. It will most likely be delicious

All lot of theses beers being named are around 8% or more.

Firestone Walker distributes in your area and they make a solid seasonal Wheat Ale called Solace. Like their Porter the general consensus seems to be "really great" or "good but not my thing". If you like Hefeweizen and are looking for a low octane summer beer I'd say give it a crack.

At 9.7% I'd hardly call this a session beer you can throw back a few of. Sumpin is a bit better at 7.5, but still a bit high to meet the "multiple at a cookout" criteria.
