Here's a draft of my proposed post, which I compiled with the help of threads in this forum, conversations with other London BAs, and personal experiences. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated. If people agree with it, I'll go ahead and create a new thread that we can link to whenever someone is looking for recommendations. I'll update it every couple months as new places open/improve.

    Some Helpful Tips:
-Not sure what beer to order? Ask for a taste or two.
-No tipping if you order drinks/food at the bar. 10-15% is customary for table service.
-Pints are 20 ounces, which can be a lot for a non-session beer. Ordering half pints is common and some pubs only list the half pint price.
-Let the bartender know if someone else is before you. Jumping the queue is strongly frowned upon.

Still have questions? Post them here!

Awesome man! I would stick in Meantime's Union Bar and their Old Brewery in the grounds of the Old Naval College. Good destination pubs in the new Royal Borough surrounded by all that history.

Nice job. It's a solid set of recommendations that doesn't overwhelm visitors with too much information.

Obviously Tiny Rebel to the list of breweries to seek out
Also maybe Bree Louise to traditional pubs, and perhaps some train station guides - paddington and st. Pancras would be good

Bree Louise has faded for me. It was 'OK' 3 or 4 years ago but so many superior venues in terms of choice and particularly quality which has always been the downfall of the BL for me. Euston Tap is 3 minutes away and more convenient for most travellers.
As for traditional - traditional shit hole more like. The place is just a pit. I think by traditional Bruce is focussing on old buildings with interesting architecture not mouldy carpet and formica walls !

Tiny Rebel gets a thumbs up from me - although it's availabilty in London is somewhat sporadic.

Thought it wasn't too bad sitting outside in the sun though it was a few years ago. Student discount too!

I have no problem with the quality of Tiny Rebel's brews. Tiny Rebel's a nice brewery indeed, but as Ruds mentioned their stuff's not regularly available in London. All of the breweries listed in the 'Great UK Breweries to Seek Out' are available consistently at a number of outlets in the capital, so I think they may be more helpful names for visitors to remember.

Quite happy to leave the Bree Louise out IMO. It's an ugly pub that more often than not serves beer in poor condition. These days it's a place to score random ticks, nothing more.

Should probably change it to great breweries that can be found in London then. The "seek out" implies it's a list of good ones that need to be hunted.

Nice and nicely done. I haven't personally ventured to London for beer-hunting, save a visit to Brewdog Camden about 18 months ago. However, if I ever get round to it I'll be sure to refer to the guide above.

Could consider adding Arbor Ales and Bristol Beer Factory to the list of UK breweries to seek out? Although I don't know if either get to London on a regular basis....

I think I picked up a BBF Southville Hop at Drink Of Fulham, fairly sure there was Arbor too. I think that if we get them up here in the NE in Coppers 8 til 8 and Glug on the reg that London stores would have them
