I especially like reviews where the BA has gone to the trouble of noting the release date and even the price that they paid.
Helps to know if I'm in the same ballpark as far as freshness and price paid
    Thanks!

I don't know about where you live but the price seems here to depend very much upon where I get it. And a considerable amount of it is free

I'm a newb but I agree with you. I like to know price and bottled on or best by date if available.

If the freshness is at all in question, I put it (assuming I know it). Certainly relevant with a DIPA review, or any aged beer review (e.g. Quad).

I usually don't mention price in a review, because it's not relevant to the rating. Discussing it in the forum? Absolutely relevant.

I find the release date/vintage/batch number are very useful when looking at reviews but I really could care less how much someone else paid for the beer (lots of differences from shop to shop, county to county, and state to state based on taxes alone).

I try to do this as much as possible - and also where I got the beer in the first place. I like seeing it in other reviews as well.

I agree, knowing the price point is good , by its also very helpful to know the freshness level of the beer being reviewed. I never thought of it when reviewing beers honestly, but I will make it a point to include these aspects from now on!

While I don't typically do so (review from phone a lot), I admittedly look for pricing info and whatnot when I'm checking out reviews. As Hoptimus said, I'll try and make a habit of doing so as I know its nothing but a further benefit.

I think putting release dates are helpful in reviews, especially if you review a beer that has been aged for a significant amount of time as certain characteristics can change (for better or worse).

I don't like seeing prices in reviews because sometimes this leads me to believe that people are basing part of their overall rating on whether they thought paid a "fair" value for a beer's quality, were overcharged, or got a bargain. As much of the pricing comes down to the location where the beer was purchased, I think that prices should only be mentioned and taken into account in place reviews.

Whether relevant to the review or not, price information is helpful even if it can vary by geography. Considering many of us use BA as a resource when shopping for/learning about beer, doesn't it make sense to have price information in the reviews? This is an amazing resource and I think price info would help more than hurt.

Also, I know that I do not personally keep my receipts so I frequently don't remember what I paid for a certain (heck, I'd be lucky if I could remember where/when I purchased it)...

I very much agree. "Price paid" would help markets be more efficient......or at least make me become more cost efficient. Here's looking at you, Fama.

I review only if the sample is fresh, or aged reasonably. This is obviously more difficult if we're at a bar somewhere, but you have to give them credit that they know what they're doing. If it is a beer we've aged ourselves I'll almost always put the vintage in the review's opener.

I vote no to both. I am aware that I already pay a higher price for beer due to where I live. I don't need to be reminded of it every time I read a review. A release date might be helpful if I am drinking the same release but as has been pointed out repeatedly on these forums, beers can change from season to season and batch to batch so although I may be drinking the same beer, the same characteristics may not be as prevalent or may be more prevalent.

I'm still not understanding what kind of value a review brings by including the price point, but I agree wholeheartedly with including bottling date or any kind of date information that would help clue a reader in on how fresh the beer was, and therefore how influenced the flavor may have become by age.

I suppose on some level, people from the same geographic region can use the price to help shop for the best deal, but given the variation in pricing, even in a local geographic area, it doesn't seem like it would be terribly helpful.

Pricing info is more helpful, imho, as an include on *place* reviews. You're going to be better off in the long run shopping places that are lower priced across the board than you will be trying to find the bomber of X brew that is $1.99 cheaper at Shop A than at Shop B. Heck, most of the time, you'll end up spending the difference in tag price by the gas you use driving around to find the cheaper bottle...

There are a handful of bottle shops that I can go to, so the price is the price. If You find a bottle for $6 but my shop sells it for $8, what can I do about it other then don't buy it. If I like the beer and its a reasonable price then that's all that matters.

If somebody wants to put price then go fo it.

I agree that if people want to put the price they paid into their review, then go for it... But I don't think the expectation should be that I need to include the price I paid when I write a review - or that my review is somehow lesser because I do not track the prices I paid on my beers in the reviews. I certainly don't feel like the area for reviewing should be altered in any way to require a price to be provided.

Heck, many of the beers on this site come in multiple form factors so price might not be that useful (like different size pours between bars and happy hour vs. normal hour prices).

I don't put the price, but I will include a bottle date, best before/by date, vintage, etc. if listed on the container.

Price helps for traders who want to know what something is worth $4$. I know it fluctuates, but should be in the same ballpark. I used to do this and like it. I'll probably start doing it again actually.
