North Dakota - Fargo Brewing Company

They seem to have a pretty simple approach and very plain but recognizable labeling. The best part I have noticed about their company is that they are letting their product speak for itself.

I have not seen any advertising for their beers (Stone's Throw Scottish Ale, Woodchipper IPA, or Summer Wheat, which is an American Pale Wheat Ale). However, in just about every restaurant and bar I have been to in North Dakota I am now seeing their brand. Friends that like IPA will encourage others to try the Woodchipper. My family visited from the east coast (my dad is a big Scottish Ale drinker) and I was able to serve him a Stone's throw (which he thoroughly enjoyed).

You might not hear much about them if you don't live in North Dakota, but trust me everyone here knows their product and is spreading the good word.

    Craft Beer from the Heartland.

Obviously New Glarus and Central Water's are the leader of the pack. O'so Brewing Company seems to be growing. We'll have to wait and see. Too many breweries are starting in WI that I can't even keep track!

Their only real measure of success is when I can buy some Furious on a regular basis :grinning:

Some would argue dragoon brewery, but I like four peaks. They have 2 very solid beers. Hop knot IPA and kiltlifter scotch ale. Good thread, drink local.

I agree it's hard to make an assessment off of one beer. But when you take into account Steve's body of work and a very solid first outing, you start to get the feeling that there's a big upside to his new brewery.

NC (where I live): Hard to pick just one so I'll go with Wicked Weed and NoDa (can't wait to see what their sour/barrel program eventually yields)

SC (where I work): Westbrook (as others have mentioned). They make such a huge variety of beers that are generally good to excellent. I've also had a few things from both RiverDog and Holy City that were very good.

Hmmm...I've heard great things about Sante Adairius but haven't tried any of their stuff at all yet, so I'll have to go with Almanac on the strength of Barrel Noir and the first 4 Farmer's Reserve offerings.

They're lineup at the ACBF in Boston a couple weeks back was strong top to bottom and Julius was excellent. Best IPA made in MA.

Well we're no Oregon or Cali but we got some great stuff here no lie. And living 30 min away from WI, I get access to New Glarus and Central Waters.

I'm looking forward to trying the Pappy's Dark I got. De Garde LOAK was AWESOME, and I've heard great things about them otherwise. Commons Myrtle was also excellent. Portland's got it goin' on.

I'm in NC. Olde Hickory makes the best beer in the state, Event Horizon. Wicked Weed is killing it on the (India) Pale Ale side of things, and NoDa is getting a growing following every day. Good stuff.

Destihl in Normal seems to be the brewery getting attention in downstate Illinois. Their fruit and sour beers are the big draw, but they've got a respectable lineup overall.

Wicked Weed. And its only 6 months old.
NoDa is just amazing. Happy to pick up my bottle of Imperial CocoLoco today
Pisgah is getting their act together too, Vortex II and Kentucky Bourbon Barreled Vortex II
Hopefully Steel Sting, only 2 months old, will continue to make good beer as well

Fremont and Black Raven. They're both making great beer and people are starting to take notice.

It has to be Prairie Artisan Ales in OK no doubt. I just hope their sales and distribution with Shelton Brothers bring attention to OK and get us more distribution from other breweries in return...we need more beer in OK!

I will brew as much beer as all 3 of them this year. And most of it isn't 6-pack beer to boot.
