One more vote for Tired Hands in PA , what they are doing is every bit as good as Hill Farmstead, I have yet to have a less than excellent beer there.

Picking only from breweries that bottle in Wisconsin, Oso has been around for a while,Black Husky is the big up and comer here. Beer flying off shelf and kegs. They will be at Great Taste this year, and its the new Wisconsin Brewery everyonewill be talking about there

not exactly MY state, but the state I buy all my beer from:
MI - Odd Side and Greenbush

Someone mentioned Dark Horse. I would hardly call them an up and comer. They have been around a couple years and are highly regarded.

WV has no dog in this fight. There are no breweries yet that seem to be going anywhere, up or otherwise, but at least they are staying open.

VA however...I 2nd the mention of Blue Mountain in Afton. Great core line-up and some interesting experimental stuff. I also have to raise a hand for Parkway Brewing in Salem. Recently was able to try everything they have out and was solidly impressed by the possibilities there. They've only been open a couple months but I think they may be going places.
[disclaimer: I have not had the chance to try anything from Hardywood Park, but I'd still be a fan of the 2 above.]

here in NC: Wicked Weed is definitely the up and comer, while Olde Hickory IMO has already made it

I would have to disagree. Olde Hickory's flagship beers are below average imo. Redeemer is ok, Event Horizon is very good.

I'd have to give North Carolina's up and comer award to Wicked Weed. They opened December of 2012 and already have a solid barrel aged program and a solid sour program.

You are right. they may not be new, but I think they still have the best beer CT has to offer and probably be distibuting out of state sooner than later.

Two Roads make a great Saison, but with Phil brewing that isn't a shock.

It's all about jacks Abby and pretty things here. Up and coming battle road brewing out of Ipswich makes some fine ales too

Wow Indiana way to show up on this post haha, Flat 12 in Indianapolis hands down. I buy their half cycle ipa regularly and their walkabout pale ale (galaxy hopped) is just as good if not better than Schlaflys TIPA. Really amazing stuff they're pumping out down there and very much looking forward to whatever their next big thing is.

I definitely agree with Barrier. I live the town over from them and it's really nice to see them doing great things especially after they got crushed by Hurricane Sandy. That Zythosaurus is so damn good.

O'so up in Plover is doing some nice things, as others have mentioned New Glarus/CW take most of the WI spotlight nationally. Toppling Goliath out in Decorah is a brewery that I cannot wait to see take off, their brews are phenomenal.

For the Rochester, New York, area, I'd say Three Heads Brewing. Their The Kind and Too Kind are great, insanely drinkable IPA and double IPA. They're only expanding further- I know they're in Pennsylvania and Vermont at the moment

I don't think anyone can take down NEBCO in CT. Great people making great beers. Two Roads should be the up and coming brewery from CT, problem is they are just doing mediocre stuff with little explosions here and there.

Igor's Dream, in my eyes was and amazing RIS and would love to see it brewed again. Conn'Tucky Lightnin' I enjoyed but has seen mixed reviews. Two Roads has stellar facility and a great staff, I'm hoping that they will begin to show more diversity and really start to WOW us with creativity. They definitely have the ability, they just need to start showing it.

I've really been enjoying Hubrew in Southeast Missouri. They're a newer brewery and just getting started. Their Spanish Street Wheat is great!

I'm from Jersey and right now Kane is blowing minds. Their IPAs are fantastic as well as just about everything else they put their hands on. I'm actually sending out a growler of Head High to a friend in MA today for some Heady Topper. Carton is good too but I think Kane is just on another level. I spend a lot of time in the DC/Maryland area and i've got to say that DC Brau is doing some great things out there as well.

If anyone has a chance to visit either of these two breweries I highly recommend it.
