I was tempted to say Tired Hands but after 1 year I think they've already established the fact that they are for real, they have arrived and they aren't going anywhere.

So my vote will be for Forest & Main. A brewpub in Ambler, PA who is making some outstanding farmhouse ale's and is usually overlooked. Plus it's cool you can drink on their hill.

For Iowa, not sure if you can still classify Toppling Goliath as an up and comer, but all their beers are awesome and it seems they are getting a bigger national following now.

As far as recently, I think Confluence Brewing in Des Moines is really starting to pick up momentum. Their South Side Citra Blonde and Des Moines IPA are fantastic.

Good People makes exceptional beer. Snake Handler is a world-class DIPA. Fools need to trade with me.

+1 to TG growing up. I would be happy if I could pick some up with regularity in Wisconsin...not to mention Minnesota expansion some day, maybe

Olde Hickory is one of my favorites in the state, honestly. The Event Horizon is world class, and easily the best beer from our state (so far.) I also feel the Redeemer is one of the best DIPAs in the state.
That being said, when Hickory makes a bad beer, its really really bad. I think it has something to do with the water in that town tasting like bleached piss. No seriously, never drink from the tap.
Also I wish Olde Hickory did more than bombers, however its hard to argue with Bee Student and Stick Stout being only 4 dollars per bomber

To each his own, but Pretty things just isn't all that great IMO. And I'd say Battle Road is only decent...but I have to support you with Jacks Abby. Seems like they're not up and coming since they get all the MA love of the newer brewers, but they are certainly still a young up and comer.

How would you know? Have you tasted any of the bears RayUF07 mentioned above? I live in Florida and I haven't, except one bottle of Intuition Underdark which was incredible. It's a long stretched out F'n state and these are small breweries.

In Michigan I like Dark Horse, but we also have Greenbush in Sawyer Michigan that has some amazing beers. There is also Shorts brewing. Michigan is just a great Beer state in General. I mean when you have Founders and Bells in your Backyard it's hard to complain.

My vote goes to Wicked Weed as well, they're really the only one getting national press and doing collabs with big time breweries. There is a BRAND NEW brewery opening up in downtown Asheville called Burial Brewing Company, I'm very interested to see what they've got when they open doors on June 15th.

for VA it's still Hardywood Park but Strangeways just opened 2-3 weeks ago and most of us in Richmond are expecting great things things from them to come. really curious about Adroit Theory once they officially open up in NoVA later this year (have had some of their taster series and pretty good, though very different from the norm)

I'd definitely still classify Toppling Goliath as an up and comer. They are obviously a known brewery on here, that already have Whalez (Assassin, Kentucky Brunch, Mornin Delight), but they also just recently started bottling a few months ago. Before that, they were simple a draft brewery, but now they are going into more full production brewery mode and their distribution footprint is expanding a bit. They have a solid core lineup, centered on the best APA being made in the U.S. if you ask me (pseduoSue) and are killing it with every IPA and Stout they release. I think the only thing they are lacking a bit in right now is their marketing angle (merchandise), but that will come I'm sure, as they are just focusing on beer now...which is great.

I also agree with you on Confluence Brewing. Once they get their canning line up and running (late Summer was last I heard), they will be able to distribute their beers to a wider audience. They are making some fantastic beers of ALL styles and are starting up a small barrel-aging program at the moment as well. They have an AMAZING marketing/merchandising team and they work very closely with the Des Moines community. They are setting up their brewery to be a contender down the road for a destination in Iowa.

In Colorado we have a few that will likely be making waves nationally. I won't bother listing Crooked Stave as I think they're already very much on the national radar.
I think people will start hearing more and more about River North, Elevation, Backcountry, and the Bull & Bush.
River North is doing some pretty zany things with barrels and they're doing a pretty nice job with production, too.
Elevation has taken the state by storm even though they're nowhere near any population centers. Like RN, they're doing crazy things with barrels and creating beers that are not only different, but well crafted.
Backcountry has been around a while, but with their new bottling options and top notch quality I think people are really taking notice.
The B&B has been around forever, but they're finally starting to bottle. Whale hunters - once you see Liquid Brain, Royal Oil, or Pimp my Rye in bottles...life will never be the same again.
